Simon. It's a right off. I will kindly take the record off you and care for it. I won't charge you much.  :hatsoff2:  Steve

I think the first thing to ascertain here is how did the centre detach itself from the rest of the disc.

If it is a British original I would be a bit upset!

Had it previously been repaired?

super glue (ethyl cyanoacrylate) doesn't bond plastic well, and it hazes it up. you need to find a plasticizer like methyl-ethyl-ketone.

Do a lot of glue do you Bob?

or better still try benzyl methyl ketone...won't glue your record for you , but you'll be up all night having fun trying

No I've had it for decades darn't say how much ( less than a quid ) Leicester record fair. I play it every time I dj and always finish with it .Took it off the deck and it just detached.

Just a pity that a rare British record is damaged like that.....at least you haven't lost out financially.

I suppose you can only do your best to "repair" it, personally I would leave it....c'est la vie!

You won't put the value back by 'repairing' it, that's gone.

I'd just keep the punch-out middle safe somewhere (so it's with the 45 if you want to sell it at some point) and leave it as it is.

psml, i met a record dealer who specialises in freakbeat who told me a woeful tale of selling one at a record fair for a pitance years ago.
