John Moffatt Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Hi all, This has probably been asked before, but can anyone clarify please whether the above record, Bobby Paris - I Walked Away / H.B. Barnum - Heartbreaker on British Capitol CL 16067, is a legal release, and exactly what year it came out? Much appreciated John
grant Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 think it was released in 1979 and probably a legit release
Guest sharmo 1 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 It was for sale in Randells record shop in Coalville at the time and they wouldn't have had bootlegs so my guess would be just a proper release.S.
Soul-slider Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 This is another legal re-issue although the seller states original.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171218290030?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_44wt_989

Soul-slider Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Exactly Pete! H.B.Barnum 'Heartbreaker' got re-issued on UK Capitol again, on orange Capitol with 'Searching For My Soul' on the flip, perhaps this one came before the red one coupled with Bobby Paris? EDIT: Just realised, this orange one is the first UK 45 release, right? 70's label design, 60's recording. Edited January 23, 2014 by Soul-Slider
TOAD Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The red one came out slightly before the lp capitol soul casino. Bobby Paris wasn't on the lp
John Moffatt Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Many thanks to everyone who contributed. So long as it's legit, I'm ok with it. Tidied up a question about the other one with 'Dr. Love' and 'Sweet Sweet Love' as well. Edited January 23, 2014 by John Moffatt
Pete S Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So the orange 45 is the first release? Yes, 1975 or 76, then as everyone says, it came out as the B side of the Bobby Paris release in late 78 or early 79
Pk 22dj Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Not sure but am I right in thinking they brought an LP out first with them on and others, then the singles came out later. I'm sure I've got the Capital LP on a shelf somewhere.

Eventually i picked up the UK demo very cheaply
grant Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 no. The 45came out first i sold it because both sides were ment to be coming out on the LP which bobby Paris didn't. Eventually i picked up the UK demo very cheaply thought b paris was on the LP?
TOAD Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Whoops yes your correct grant its heart breaker that's not. 1
Winsford Soul Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 thought b paris was on the LP? Beat me to it Grant. I bought the LP for the Bobby Paris track. Steve 1
Pk 22dj Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 As I said I think the album came out first so we would buy it, then the 45's.
Pk 22dj Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Think I will play Bobby on Saturday night at the Radcliffe Allnighter if I get the chance. 1
