Bo Diddley Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Jimmy Thomas - No Trouble/Springtime - UK Spark. I bought this from "Blue Max" Millward's shop in the late 70's. It was in amongst his old collection that had been cherry picked and sifted many times. I bought it (about £1 or £2) in my search for "something different" . Basically, no-one else had wanted it after he sold up. Max told me that he'd played "No Trouble" at the Cats a few times. It's still in the cardboard cover with his writing on!! Anyway, it's never really struck me as anything special. Last year, I noticed a copy go through eBay for £150+!! I was suprised but put it down as an auction fluke. I watched another on eBay this week finish at about £135!! Also, it's appeared in the "wants" section on the site. It seems to be the "Springtime" side that gets the attention. Is/has this been getting plays? Is it more a "mod" record? Just interested as I wouldn't have thought it a 3 figure record - but I think everything should be much less . timthedim Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 yeah made popular by the 'Mousetraps' nights in London I believe. I'm after a copy at the moment if you feel like parting with it
Soul-slider Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Never heard 'Springtime' before, I can see it's appeal. Great tune.
Pete S Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Incredible. Had loads of these, used to sell them for £4 a time. That's about all I'd pay for one now.

Souljer6 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I've got this. For some unknown reason I bought it along with the Mighty Dodos release when it first came out (maybe it was the girl in the record shop!). Always thought it was shit. Still do.

Yep, this, The Mighty Dodos and the (fake) Skatalites, all on blue Spark, all worth about a fiver apiece until someone says they are rare
