John Reed Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 As the Xmas & New Year celebrations become a distant memory and the harsh January weather wearing people down. What better to blow away those New Year blues than with a CD Swap. If you fancy showing what a mighty fine collection you’ve got, highlighting your top tips for 2014 or fancy making the other swappers ears bleed, go on and give it a go… All you need to do is send me your contact details (real name and postal address), burn a CD of music, send it to the other recipients and wait for the CD’s to start dropping onto your doormat, it’s that easy. Numbers will be limited and please only put yourself forward, if you do intend sending out the CDs. I know it sounds a funny thing to say, but it does cause disappointment and heartache, if people don’t play ball. So, PM me with your contact details and we can get the ball rolling. 1

John Reed Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 14 copies burnt yesterday, ahead of the game for once, mid-tempo at quickest mind Kev You're very eager Kev, but at the moment you've burnt two CDs too many.... So, if you don't want Kev to be sad because he's wasted two blank discs, send me a pm and join the swap? 2
Sjclement Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) Hope I haven't missed the boat on this one,(its not another whatever floats your boat is it?) John please add me to the list I think most of you have my address by now, I've a few 'new to me' I'd like to share and a few oldies re discovered. Can I be cheeky and ask if anyone has a copy of Oscar Perry's Its too late, (the very elusive one) could they include it on the Cd. atb John Edited January 16, 2014 by sjclement 1
John Reed Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Nope, you've not missed the boat, just looking for one more victim then we're done.
Northernjordan Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I would like a bash to be fair, I think it could be a great way to hear some new tunes. However, being young I wonder if my CD would be high enough quality... Would probably base it on my own collection and that would mean lots of cheapies... Would this be OK? Jordan 2
John Reed Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Jordan, You're in. It is a great way to hear new stuff and believe you me, there are plenty if old workhorses out there hearing new stuff every day. Don't worry about your CD being of high enough quality or being full of cheapies as long as you like what you put on it. I see these swaps as aural enjoyment and ways to listen to new stuff to me and see what floats other peoples boats. Send me your details via pm and we can set the ball rolling 2

Jordan You're in good hands here, Jordan. Non-judgemental approach works for those involved and a fantastic opportunity for ALL to hear stuff that might not have been heard before. And even if stuff is known having a CD with a mix of genres, eras represented, male, female, group etc all in the mix can be highly rewarding. Fill your boots, lad. Mike. 1
Sjclement Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Welcome aboard Jordan, (there's that boat again) sometimes an old tune gets a new lease of life by whats sitting either side of it.Loking forward to this one. John 1
Northernjordan Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Cheers guys, better get my thinking cap on... and go through my box! 1

Looking at some of my collection , it is funny how things were 'hot' when I got them (usually via tapes.....pre CD days here) Obviously , trends change all the time, but of course, many tracks get overlooked and forgotten. What seems a common track to some is new to others. Hope to find things that you'll like
