  • Scal just PM'd me and said he thinks those are from a midweek disco promotion and I agree with him.  Not a proper nighter.  Full of divs, girlies, and no dilated pupils.

  • They are hoists for kids to get into their platform soled shoes, a throwback to the fads and fashions of theat era, those kids in the photo have just been released from them.

I would have said so, except for the last one

Spent two years at Mirrorpix, left in 2009 these images are new, my guess they have come in from the regionals within the group, happy to put people on touch with the archive if anybody wants?

Malcolm

From the post on Facebook, where I first saw these pictures, they are dated as February 1975

Yeah, maybe I noticed one of the captions was something along the lines of 'Teenagers enjoying themselves dancing at a disco'...I used to go the midweeks as it happens

A young Clare Balding (3rd from Right) must have been covering the event for the BBC.

You could be right.

A rope coming down with  a seat affair attached to the bottom. Maybe for more than one person. That would work.

But I'm enjoying all the other answers  . . . . . . so more please. :D
