Popular Post Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2014 Walk Out The Door If You Wanna. I've seen it in sales a few times of late. Are people really playing it? If the answer to this question is 'yes,' by the way, then we truly have run out of records haven't we...? 4
Ian Seaman Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 yes heard it out a few times, it's a Bovril record lol
Guest Bearsy Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Certainly heard a lot worse tunes and fills the floor at many venues and I like it cos it at least has a pulse. Might dig my old copy out lol
Barry Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Certainly heard a lot worse tunes and fills the floor at many venues Really??!! 1

Might dig my old copy out lol I suppose there's no accounting for taste Bearsy. Even if you have none Seriously though, if I was regularly hearing worse records than that when i went out, I'd have a think about changing the venues I patronise... 1
Benji Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Worse than the other side What is the other side of the 45? I only have the LP and dug it out the other night to see what the fuss is about. I was truly shocked.
Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 What is the other side of the 45? I only have the LP and dug it out the other night to see what the fuss is about. I was truly shocked. You working on the theory that someone accidentally played the wrong side Benji?
Ian Parker Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) I had it many years ago.... Thought it was flip side to 'it should have been me' ? Edited January 8, 2014 by IanP
Barry Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 It was the B side to 'it should have been me'. It shouldn't have been played 2
Kegsy Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Walk Out The Door If You Wanna. I've seen it in sales a few times of late. Are people really playing it? If the answer to this question is 'yes,' by the way, then we truly have run out of records haven't we...? Personally I always quite liked it. Kegsy
Benji Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 You working on the theory that someone accidentally played the wrong side Benji? Ha ha, nice one. I was fearing that it might came out on 45 in Germany too. It would have been the worst addition to my german soul collection. Phew, "it should have been me" came out with a different flip over here.
Peter99 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I think it is fair to say that it is a pile of steaming dog turd. I'm surprised the pikey lad likes it. Isn't it a tad too funky for you Bearsy? Peter 1
Barry Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The hand claps are the only thing I can stomach - a hard to bear cartoon-like pastiche of party-funk. 1

Marktsoulman Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 God just listed to that and its awful.......Mind you that Richard Blandon and the Dubs thing for sale is like a country and western film soundtrack IMO! No accounting for our diverse tastes? Mark T 2

Even if you have none Seriously though, if I was regularly hearing worse records than that when i went out, I'd have a think about changing the venues I patronise... Oi I resemble that remark Godz lol We all have tunes we like and some we don't that just don't make sense in all reality but hey diversity is my middle name :-)

Isn't it a tad too funky for you Bearsy? Peter Its a form of pikey funk meats sister funk in a uptempo Beat kind of northern stomper Peter lolol
Guest Bearsy Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Its a five pound record for a reason cos its poo I hear you all thinking :-)
Markw Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 It's one of those records that is based on the distinct sound of the lowest regions of a round, wooden container being desperately scraped.......................cheesy rubbish. 3
Peter99 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Its a form of pikey funk meats sister funk in a uptempo Beat kind of northern stomper Peter lolol Hope you're ok fella. Peter
Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 On a slightly more serious note, I'm genuinely relieved that I'm not that out of touch. Equally however, I'm genuinely dismayed that anyone would be desperate/audacious enough to convince some clearly vulnerable members of our community that this is a record worthy of playing out.
Barry Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I can feel a... "That - - - - - - - - - - - - - record!" ...thread coming on 1

And on that note I will get my coat Godz lol Off to start a thread on how god damn awful that Pyramid tune is :-)

Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 I can't help thinking Tina Turner, legs akimbo. Me too! I was going to say we'll be playing Nutbush City Limits next. Except that's a much better record.
KevH Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Yes hedgehog shit sandwich repeating belch kind of groove ;-) I can go with that my owd.
KevH Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Me too! I was going to say we'll be playing Nutbush City Limits next. Except that's a much better record. Should have read ,Tina Turner, nutbush, legs akimbo. 1

Popular Post Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Popular Post Posted January 8, 2014 Yeah you tell them Terry :-) Up yours you lot I knew I wouldn't be alone :-) He's just teasing you. Actually it's cheap a enough 45 to start buying copies and chucking them in landfill 4
Bridgesoceity Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 It's custom made for the Kings Hall massive. ;-) 2
Guest Bearsy Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 He's just teasing you. Actually it's cheap a enough 45 to start buying copies and chucking them in landfill I don't care it just made me feel good that my ear has not gone completely deaf lol
Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 I don't care it just made me feel good that my ear has not gone completely deaf lol Not deaf - just mainly ornamental
Roburt Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Unless she had 2 French Motown 45 releases with the same piccy sleeve, I've got that somewhere. ............ I'll have to look it out sometime. It's a good 70's funky soul tune BUT I can see why NS-ers would hate it.
Godzilla Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 It's a good 70's funky soul tune BUT I can see why NS-ers would hate it Sweeping statement there. I've bought more funk than NS by about 10 - 1 over the last ten years or so - that's funk as opposed to 'Funky Northern' - and that Yvonne Fair wouldn't hit my radar as a "good funky soul tune". 1
Markw Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 It's custom made for the Kings Hall massive. ;-) Come on Stoke!! Let's be 'aving ya!!! 1
Guest gordon russell Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 trouble is half you lot don,t go out or you like that suvern london dreary garbage like eugene gasphard or gangsta boy......i,ve always said records have to be played at the right place in the right type of set......l despair
Guest gordon russell Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 It's custom made for the Kings Hall massive. ;-) to good for the queens hall besides it,s a 1974 track
Guest john s Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'd never heard it before, just listened to the first 45 seconds. If it were better known, it would be a hen party stalwart, I'd have thought.
