Sooty Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) ...interesting comments!x The last piece of vinyl I bought before losing me freedom in 1979 was a tune by M...Pop Musik! It was 'unique' and I personally haven't come across it since but the copy I bought had a double run in groove...! You never knew if you was gonna get the A...or B side 'M Factor'?! No good for DJing but it was a 'coup' to promote the B side....and M as a collective were 'Soul' based folk in their youth!x Ahead of its time and yes I remember singing along to it on the radio whilst putting knock n nail play sets sets together in nick for the kids quite happily!! Was frustrated to not hear the B side tho for a year!!!x Decent 'pop music' and fitting tunes for the thread I reckon...!x https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GieHr2CbPxk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q5qaXkinpQ @@ ~ LUV SOOTY X Edited January 8, 2014 by SOOTY
Ian Dewhirst Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) It is quite poppy though, isn't it? Yep. William Bell's "Happy" was obviously written to be a Pop hit. I was never over-keen on it personally. It was a little too Pop for me even 45 years ago. It pretty much has the same sentiment as the Pharrell record but with the benefit of great 60's production values. Ian D Edited January 8, 2014 by Ian Dewhirst 1
