...interesting comments!x The last piece of vinyl I bought before losing me freedom in 1979 was a tune by M...Pop Musik! It was 'unique' and I personally haven't come across it since but the copy I bought had a double run in groove...! You never knew if you was gonna get the A...or B side 'M Factor'?! No good for DJing but it was a 'coup' to promote the B side....and M as a collective were 'Soul' based folk in their youth!x Ahead of its time and yes I remember singing along to it on the radio whilst putting knock n nail play sets sets together in nick for the kids quite happily!! Was frustrated to not hear the B side tho for a year!!!x Decent 'pop music' and fitting tunes for the thread I reckon...!x

It is quite poppy though, isn't it?

 

Yep. William Bell's "Happy" was obviously written to be a Pop hit. I was never over-keen on it personally. It was a little too Pop for me even 45 years ago. It pretty much has the same sentiment as the Pharrell record but with the benefit of great 60's production values.
