grant Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 My wife is getting into a lot of poppy stuff, mainly female vocal, especially a lot of old wigan stuff e.g. Paula Durante, Paula Parfitt, J Trent etc., a lot of which I already have on cd/vinyl. Therefore I am after a few mp3's listed below and any suggestions/mp3's of any other similar tunes if you would like to throw them up on here, would be very much appreciated. Even if you dont have an mp3 of a track, list the tune anyway as someone else may have it Karen Young - Too Much Of A Good Thing Honeybees - She Dont Deserve You Susan Shirlie - Really Into Something Samantha Jones - Surrounded By A Ray Of Sunshine Thanks in advance Grant

Godzilla Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Great thread Grant. Here's the first of a couple of double siders. Sandy & The Pebbles - He's My Kind of Fellow. An old mecca spin. It was about 10 years after I bought it that I realised it was a cover of a Gladys Knight song Top version though. Sandy_and_the_Pebbles____Hes_My_Kind_of_Fellow.mp3 Sandy & The Pebbles - My Foolish Little Heart. Played this over and over when I was DJing regularly, to little to no reaction. Ah well, I still love it. Sandy_and_the_Pebbles____Hes_My_Kind_of_Fellow.mp3 GodzSandy_and_the_Pebbles_My_Foolish_Little_Heart.mp3

Godzilla Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Cheers Rachel Not sure why one of those appeared twice. Never mind - here's another double sider. Shangri Las - Right Now and Not Later. Surely the archetypal white girl group. Shangri_Las___Right_Now_and_not_Later_.mp3 Shangri Las - The Train from Kansas City. The official 'A' side. Not a Northern sound but one of my favourite girl group records. Everyone and his dog has heard of Phil Spector but outside of girl group fans who remembers the crazy but brilliant George "Shadow" Morton? Shangri_Las___Train_from_Kansas_City.mp3
Guest rachel Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Cheers Rachel Not sure why one of those appeared twice. Don't know, there's only one of it attached to the post, seems to happen when there's a 'hiccup' whilst uploading
Guest garv Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Gerri Grainger................. it, one of the best intro`s ever ( imo). I love the way it builds you up & then lets you down with a vocal & words to die for. my mind never fails to add the hand claps with a thousand people swaying, spinning & sweating as i stand on the edge of a certain dance floor savouring the moment.
