Tezza Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 I'm with you Dobber. Never been a British collector, they are like poor relations despite the rarity.
Pete S Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'm with you Dobber. Never been a British collector, they are like poor relations despite the rarity. Sorry to disagree. Nothing stirs the loins more than a lovely red and white UK demo...even if it's by Ken Dodd 2

Wiganer1 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I GOT A US ISSUE - BEENA ASKED FOR IT ALREADY FOR TONIGHTS ALL-NITER AT LEICESTER 2
Wiggyflat Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I was offered a Berts Apple Crumble for 100 and a Cajun Heart mint UK demo for 100 and a Ronnie Hilton Laughing Gnome by a dealer...bought the Laughing Gnome and Berts and meant to get the Cajun a month later...I misplaced my diary with the dealers number and I'm still looking for it.This was 5 years ago. 1
Guest turntableterra Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 green issue down here too, minter from an american, still had the staple in the top corner
Guest sharmo 1 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Had 3 x UK demo 3 x USA demo 1 x USA issue never had a sniff of a UK orange issue what a record Pete have you ever seen a British issue ? I've never seen one now that would be a nice record to own.
Dobber Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Pete have you ever seen a British issue ? I've never seen one now that would be a nice record to own. I've seen a couple of uk orange issues go through the bay, interestingly,I had a stone mint uk demo, yet it had the faintest split second skip half way through, that you wouldn't notice unless you were really listening, and then I listened to another demo copy, and it did the same! I reckon the uk demos are flawed!

I reckon the uk demos are flawed! Mine is exactly the same. When you play it you know when it's coming and look around to see if anyone noticed and it seems like they haven't it's like a secret thing only demo owners know about ........er .....unless non owners have just read this . Out of interest how much did the orange originals go for dobber ?
Denbo Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Had 3 x UK demo 3 x USA demo 1 x USA issue never had a sniff of a UK orange issue what a record I'd like a UK copy too, issue or Demo. Please PM me anybody, cash waiting. Cheers.
Guest sharmo 1 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 British or American either way it's a fabulous number. I've always loved this record and still fills the floor and would put this in my top ten easily.

The issues show up on popsike, but I imagine a nice orange copy would be in the realms of £400?

Really ? that seems cheap for a rare British record I'd love to see one . thank you .I had a quick fix on you tube a minute ago and just as the brass comes in .......nothing , you know the exact spot that strange bump and you have another look to see if there's a lump in the vinyl and nothing. great stuff mate.
Pete S Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 It's a pressing fault only on the UK copies. Issue on my website, it is the only record on the entire page that wasn't my own copy: It's right down the bottom I think https://lostvinylgemsofthe60s.blogspot.co.uk/ 1
Upthejunction Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Whats the Us Demo currently fetching in Ex+ condition ????
Julianb Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Some will just never understand pete, british is best. As soon as my UK demo arrived, the US demo was out of the door!!!! 1

Tezza Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 Ridiculous post! On what basis. You prefer the British ? I don't for the reason above. Each to their own. Don't denounce me because I have an opposing opinion to yourself. Ridiculous post!
Gene-r Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 It's a pressing fault only on the UK copies. It's more as if it was dubbed from a US 45, and the master jumped or was knocked during the instrumental break (rather than a fault causing the demo to jump itself). What do you think?

What do you think? It does sound like a one groove skip doesn't it. The record itself definitely doesn't jump so yes, bad master! 1
Guest sharmo 1 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 UK issue....played it through, no skip :-) Very nice Sir , very nice.
Pete S Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Note the ad for Strawberry Jam's version of Bobby Paris at the top...
