Guest fvr5000 Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 I've been really enjoying both versions of the classic "Ordinary Joe"...Terry Callier and Jasmine Kara. Does anyone know of any other songs that sound like this song?

Steve G Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) There's a gospel song on Hob is Gospel by a Chicago group that uses much of the same tune……Greater Bethlehem Young Adult Choir of Chicago "Can you feel the spirit" - pretty good it is too - one to look out for if you don't know it and like a bit of soulful gospel and like choirs singing a contemporary number. Andreas B Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 "Ordinary Joe" is one of the best tunes ever set to wax. Never tire of hearing it. Here's my vote for a tune with a very similar feel, wonderful LP-only Jerry Butler "Stop Steppin' On My Dreams" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCveGQYXIG8

Sunnysoul Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uojzfwMaCho Instrumental but same feel good sound. This is the song's composer Dave Grusin's version from the Winning motion picture soundtrack. As nice as Young Holt Unlimited's version.
