Northern Soul Uk Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Just picked this up for $10 Nice and unusual I thought, have we seen any before? It's a Canadian Radio Station copy. 2
Roburt Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Quite a few soul things were released on Canadian Epic. A number of these were US Okeh releases (seem to recall that I've got a Walter Jackson 45 on the label). Not too many of the 60's soul 45's show up here, but a few do ...... https://www.45cat.com/label/epic-ca
Dave Pinch Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 all of his okeh 45s including you dont want me no more are on canadian epic...the later ones are rare tho
Rudzy Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Just picked this up for $10 Nice and unusual I thought, have we seen any before? It's a Canadian Radio Station copy. 20131223_130241.jpg Nice One! I think you've got a right result with that early label design. UK Price estimated at £15 - £20
dthedrug Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 HI ALL.. Picked this great LP up in a local charity shop along with 8 other LPs paid £18 for the lot, this was the best by far, and in ex condition, very rare to find this sort of stuff, which makes it even better HAPPY NEW YEAR DAVE K 1
Cheapsiderecords Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I just ran 6 of the Major's Canadian Epic 45's through ebay at $5 each and managed to sell 3 of them at $6 each?
Jim G Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I sold "Ain't No Soul" for £15, got it from the same source as the first post, Radio Station stickers in exactly same place. High quality vinyl was better then Okeh releases, but everyone wants the Okeh copies! And the Canadian stuff is much harder to find! 1
Cheapsiderecords Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 At some point I had to decide if I wanted US or Canadian, I decided to keep Okeh copies as I have the pic sleeves as well where available. I have kept the copies of Investigate and Its The Beat on Canadian for now
Pete S Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 In 1979 I bought Sam's "Call Me Tomorrow" (Major Harris) off him for £18 after begging him for weeks to flog it me, lost it at one of the Stafford alldayers!
