Tommy1
I would say 1972/3. Link to comment Social source share
Guest trickbag
3002 Harvey Scales and the Seven Seas "Trying to survive / Bump your thang" The A side is one of the best soul releases on the label, mixing successfully a hard funk riff with a dance beat, on an effective tale of hardship with Scales questioning the inequalities of our society. At the chorus he breaks into a Curtis Mayfield style of vocal delivery, and I am surprised this has not been played more. Flip captures the "Bump" style popular in discos in 1975. ricky. Jordirip
I would guess '75/ '76/ but sounding earlier, possibly a reason for it not being picked up on at the time of release, not fashionable or current enough. Just a theory, Link to comment Social source share
boba
agreeing with the above, has to be '75-'76 given the bump flip. i will ask harvey the next time i talk to him. 1 Link to comment Social source share
Steve G
Yes 75-76 fits in with the other Magic Touch releases in the 3000 series... Link to comment Social source share

The reason I put 1972/3 is cos of the lyrics, they "fit" those years. I have not heard the flip so I believe you, but please ask him Bob! Link to comment Social source share
