Guest Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) Motown issued a batch of unreleased tracks last year, 1962 vintage, on MP3 only format. If you are interested, the same concept is being repeated...unissued tracks from 1963...at the moment, Amazon US is the source. Presumably UK will follow suit. 1 T Edited December 15, 2013 by Guest

Andy Rix Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 This is cool ... can't wait for LaBrenda's 'In Twenty Words Or Less' ... it's been a favourite of mine for years ... I wonder if they ever meant to use this for a contest ... 'In Twenty Word Or Less Write I Love You Because .....' ... fantastic stuff Andy
Guest Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Hello Andy forever grateful for the tapes you made for me many years ago..... this 1963 set should be great...the 1962 was variable but this should be more like it.

Guest SteveJohnston Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Is this why Universal are putting the 1963 unreleased Motown out? & did the 1962 see a physical outing?`Use-it-or-lose-it`If, 50 years after its publication, the producer of a sound recording is not making the recording available for sale, both physically and online, in sufficient quantity, a performer who has assigned his or her rights in the recording to the producer may give written notice to the producer that he or she wishes to reclaim their performers` rights in the recording. If, after one year from the date of the notice, the producer has failed to make the recording available for sale, both physically and online, the performer`s rights will revert to the performer and the producer`s copyright in the recording will expire. And if so are we going to see this on a CD or better still vinyl box set?Steve J Edited January 20, 2014 by SteveJohnston
Guest Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 This is why companies are releasing tracks from late 50s -to 1962. Check Amazon for numerous box sets from USA labels.......they lose the rights if they don't issue. Anna label for example....great value at about £5. Lots of labels covered. The MP3 format suits the companies, cheap method. I doubt that Motown 62/63 U/I like these would warrant a CD issue.. due to costs involved. !964 onwards might be different.......DRATS appear, and that raises interest somewhat.
Kidinquisitive Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Wow, these are all on spotify, if you use that site. Looking forward to delving into these.
