A decent radio show ......... a few mistakes with regard to facts but they aren't important when measured against the enthusiasm of these guys (& gals).

PLUS ... any guy that nominates the Kittens "Ain't No More Room" as his fave track is more than OK in my book.

He was run out of town years ago Neil he's only allowed back into gods own county with a visa and he can't claim benefits till he is 115 years old,but he is close already. As for his S.F. contacts no doubt he knew the guy who cleaned all the recording studios.

I've not heard all of the podcast yet but I like  "Its about the soul and would rather listen to great $5 record than have a competition on who has the most expensive / rarest record in their box".

Its a shame that there are so many egotistical so called collectors / DJs on the scene these days in England and seemingly the U.S. Most of whom expect respect and praise for having a very expensive record in their box, often they don't get it, that is the respect they crave and the soul scene itself.

Thanks for posting Andreas.

Must say tho I am surprised the "Sweater Funk" guys (Kirk, John, etc) dont get a mention for all the good soul work they do in SF not just northern but modern/boogie/whatever.

Really enjoyed the show cant wait to be back in that fantastic town again

Cheers Paul

Hey Paul, I was a bit surprised too by Sweater Funk being not even being mentioned. Those guys really are something special in a city so full of already great DJs, that I still dearly miss living in. I guess since the podcast's focus was more on the straight up Northern Oldies side of things they didn't feel that Sweater Funk's boogie/modern/2 step kind of sounds need be included, perhaps not to confuse people further who might not have any clue what Northern Soul is all about (trust me, there's more than a handful stateside).

For those that haven't had the pleasure of visiting SF before, just know that that podcast and those DJs are just the tip of iceberg! :)
