Northern Soul Uk Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Wonder if anyone has any estimates on what what this will finish up at? Paul Anka-When we get there - UK RCA Victor Blue/Green Demo. Out of my price range no doubt https://www.ebay.com/itm/321271379783?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Guest Soultown andy Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Sold one for 150 and a ketty lester for 100,then started collectin british bout 6 mths later .
Northern Soul Uk Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Think I'll go for a £200 mark?? But could go silly cos I sold a Black US copy a few months ago for £135, so in context I would say the UK original demo would be worth quite a bit more. Edited December 10, 2013 by Northern Soul UK

Pete S Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Gutted!! It does happen though! I think Agent Smith was chuffed with it though, if I remember it looked like it had been manufactured that day.
pikeys dog Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Does nobody read descriptions and listen to sound files? It's knackered. 1
Northern Soul Uk Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Does nobody read descriptions and listen to sound files? It's knackered. Heard worse played out. Bet it still fetches good money though, 3 bids, £51 already with nearly 9 days to go.
Northern Soul Uk Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 I think Agent Smith was chuffed with it though, if I remember it looked like it had been manufactured that day. Maybe it was? TeeHee!
Godzilla Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Does nobody read descriptions and listen to sound files? I read it and listened. Unfortunately it seems to play the correct record. 3
MrsWoodsrules Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Always, liked this, and Can't Help Loving You, both timeless pop/soul IMO. Pretty fly for a white guy! Edit: just as a matter of interest, my internet network at home is called 'Pretty Fly For A Wi-Fi' just to impress my neighbours Edited December 10, 2013 by MrsWoodsrules 2

Cover-up Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Does nobody read descriptions and listen to sound files? It's knackered. The seller is really strict with gradings. I'd say his FAIR is probably most people's VG+...
Mick Sway Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Bought a UK issue for £10 from Record Collector when "blue eyed soul" didn't sell 10 years ago. Don't care, this track swings....... Good luck to the selller.
Tony Smith Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Out of curiosity what does the US demo go for now?
Tezza Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Played to death over the past 3 - 4 Years. KIlled it and now so fed up of hearing it. If I smoked it would be a good time for a fag but I don't so I can't !!
Scal Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 As a British release it is scarce....as a Northern thang it is after my time and does not compare to "I Can't Help Loving You".......just thought i'd give this thread a bit more mileage.....and i'm bored!

Just my opinion don`t ya know. Never done it for me but each to their own. Its up there with The Majestics for me. Never really understood where it fits. Guest eddiep Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Shouldn't of really been more than a ton. Especially today with prices dropping on the whole. UK issue is much harder to find not mashed nevertheless. UK Demo is more common I think. Seen more of them than issue's anyway...about 4 to 1 more. Edited December 19, 2013 by eddiep

Guest eddiep Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 To be fare it has had a bit of a second wind of late. It has had for the last 2 years I think in certain parts of the country. I remember a year or two ago Pete sold one for £100 on here. I know cause I had the issue and was pondering on selling that and didn't know what to put on it.

Northern Soul Uk Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) So is the same gonna happen to 'As if there were no tomorrow'? C'mon, you know you all love it Just wondered if it's going to go as big as 'when we get there'? Who knows? Not I. Edited December 19, 2013 by Northern Soul UK
Godzilla Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 So is the same gonna happen to 'As if there were no tomorrow'? C'mon, you know it's terrible tune that should only be played when all the soul records have been smashed to pieces and buried deep in an oceanic trench. Excellent description. Couldn't put it better myself.... 2
Guest eddiep Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Was that an issue? I forgot all about that. No Pete. You had a demo for sale at the time but I think you had an issue a week or two later.
