Impact Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Hi folks, I am looking for an original copy of this one please in at least vg+ condition. Thanks ATB Stew 1
Pete S Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I listed this last week for £5, had 8 calls on it, how can a record like this go indemand like that? It's so common.
Dave Rimmer Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I listed this last week for £5, had 8 calls on it, how can a record like this go indemand like that? It's so common Because it's been selling for three times that amount for over a year Pete.
Impact Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 It is an example of a cheap record that sounds the dogs b*****cks. 3
Pete S Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Because it's been selling for three times that amount for over a year Pete. Wow not £15!!!! There's been 400 copies on ebay..
Dave Rimmer Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Wow not £15!!!! There's been 400 copies on ebay.. Yeah I know it's not a huge amount, but it is still three times what you sold it at, and everyone likes a bargain. Did you notice a large proportion of the copies on Ebay all came from one seller ? They must have had boxfuls of it.

I don't know what happened, suddenly they were everywhere, pink ones and green ones, also off white/pinkish ones as well I think. I wouldn't trust anything on a Major Bill label.

Pete S Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Maybe so for the male vocal Pete - the Rita Lee is a bit of a t**t to pick up though.. Yeah but would you trust it - if ever a pile of records was going to appear out of nowhere...it'd be on one of his labels 1
Guest Ivor Jones Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Yeah I know it's not a huge amount, but it is still three times what you sold it at, and everyone likes a bargain. They came from a large job lot of imports that were discovered a few years back. I think they're gone now though.
neckender Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Maybe so for the male vocal Pete - the Rita Lee is a bit of a t**t to pick up though.. The Rita Lee is a re-issue done in the 7ts, after Brad gave the label owner some advice about which songs to press up for Northern demand. 2
Reg Scott Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 The Rita Lee is a re-issue done in the 7ts, after Brad gave the label owner some advice about which songs to press up for Northern demand. Eh up B, when you say it's a re-issue are you saying it was previously released? Or do you mean it was from tape/acetate and then pressed up specifically to suit demand and in that case is it still the only wax press available (rather than acetate that 'somebody' may have)?

Previously released as Cresa Watson-salvation-Charay 90. 3

Cresa Watson on the Yellow Label.
Reg Scott Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) Cresa Watson on the Yellow Label. Previously released as Cresa Watson-salvation-Charay 90. Thanks for clearing that one up for me gents - suggests Rita Lee is one of the more elusive re-issues and my preferred version.. Reinforces the point of the chaos of Major's issuing - forgot about this thread if anyone needs further info Edited November 29, 2013 by ClearVinyl 1
Guest taffy Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Me and Terry Cozens found 500 copies in a north london warehouse 2 years ago and had 250 copies the year before...all sold now.
Marc Forrest Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Me and Terry Cozens found 500 copies in a north london warehouse 2 years ago and had 250 copies the year before...all sold now. wow, it never fails to amaze me how big this collecting scene is and how fast a quantity as yours get absorbed by the demand!
Guest Mr Faye Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 if anyone else has a copy for sale for cheap, i wouldn't mind it for playing out... Thanks Aaron
paultp Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I believe Butch played this out a year or so ago and the price went up to 25 for a while as everyone had to have one.
