Hi,

Unfortunately have no information about which label was involved in this recording if it was any...Sterling Sound was in NY but I think it's just an studio for mastering records. Have not seen any other copy of this acetate but of course can't assure is a one off.

This is the tracklist

A1. Branded
A2. Funky Street Band
A3. Turn To Stone
A4. Ooh Baby Baby
A5. Earthquake
B1. Ebony & Ivory
B2. Here Stand The Weeper
B3. She Shot A Hole In My Soul
B4. Cry Baby
B5. My Days Are Numbered

Here are the scans of both sides

Okay thanks, so no details really.

Fantastic track, I assume lots of the others are covers? Is the She Shot A hole, the same as Clifford Curry?

I suspect out of my reach, so hopefully you don't mind me asking questions.

Will be interesting to know where this lands, 2 people are favourites I would have thought.

Interesting that at least three of the tunes on the Herbert Hunter LP were released in other versions on the ELF label.

"Earthquake" by Bobbi Lynn.

"Funky Street Band" by Buzz Cason.

"She Shot A Hole In My Soul" by Clifford Curry.

All of the above have close links to Mac Gayden and/or Buzz Cason.

Plus there's a version of Robert Knight's "Branded" on there which also was penned and produced by Gayden/Cason.

Might be a clue in there somewhere.  :g: Or not! and it's just coincidence. But I'd put money on the LP recording being linked to Gayden/Cason in one way or another.
