Goldsoul
What are you offering and I will consider it. Link to comment Social source share
Theothertosspot
What are you offering and I will consider it. Your colleague sold a copy for a ton a couple of years ago, can't be much more than that now (ask PS). The boot is perhaps rarer nowadays and only a slightly different shade of colour and non the less sounds the same. Regards Link to comment Social source share
Guest son of stan
Sold one last year. It's about £60 -£70, I'd say Link to comment Social source share
Goldsoul
Latest offer is £750 It booked several years ago at 150 but the demand has rocketed since then. More interested in trades though not cash. Edited November 24, 2013 by The Golden 101 Link to comment Social source share
Stockholmsoulfox
Ok, so what's my 'rarer' boot worth then? Does look like a real one albeit a darker green.. Edited November 24, 2013 by stockholmsoulfox 1 Link to comment Social source share
Soul-slider
I have that early boot too mr.stockholm, I bet if you stuck it on ebay you'd get a good price, better than you would initially expect! Link to comment Social source share
Kjw
This is one of those records where the boot looks more professional than the original I sold a NM original a couple of years ago for £200 and have thought it always to remain around this price since - definitely worth more than the £100 suggested above Not £750 though - whoever offered this amount needs picking up in a van and taking somewhere secure 3 Link to comment Social source share
Guest miff
Bit of a daft question this but, do you say Tam-pete or Tamp-ete when you say the label name. It will settle a long running argument thanks Link to comment Social source share
Micksmix
Bought mine about five years ago at the prestatyn weekender, think it was £120 was told the writing on the label was a group member, anyone confirm? Link to comment Social source share

Del Reys Inc.jpg Don't know about the guitarist, seems plausible or why write that on the label? I'm sure it's an original either way..top tune! NEV
Amazingly, people are criticising folk in sales for ripping people off ..obviously the "wants" is excluded as far as looking after fellow members is concerned lol Link to comment Social source share
Steve Plumb
Why do some people think the dark green second issue is rarer? The olive green original is far rarer, can't believe no one has picked up and mentioned this? 1 Link to comment Social source share
Quinvy
It's all about supply and demand, and demand seems very high on this 45. How much did Manship get for it? Link to comment Social source share

In December 2008 it sold for £306 and in May 2012 it sold for £433. Link to comment Social source share
Corbett80
Heard Butch spin this a few times recently - may account for the current large sum it's attracting - lots of interest on it I imagine as it's an oldie that is also good for those who like the newer funk infused sounds...? Sounds average to me, but a dancer that is an oldie and not yet overplayed .. Average as in, it's not outstanding or special. Link to comment Social source share
Modernsoulsucks
I take your point Nev but I do allow more leeway in here as we're not discussing a set sale price. However all this would be better in LAYB as it is constantly bumping the ad to the top of the listing. ROD 1 Link to comment Social source share
Raresoul45s
Original rarer by miles as Steve Plumb says, if I had a boot I'd ebay it. Original, I sold one set sale £395 about a year ago. Very hard to find and not surprised Kev has had such a big offer. Cheers Darren Link to comment Social source share

Its been indemand (again) for a fair while now...would say the last couple of years in fact! Having said that, I can imagine the butch-factor now being responsible for another price hike. However: 750 GBP? You gotta be joking, never... Edited November 25, 2013 by Marc Forrest Link to comment Social source share
Scal
I was going to comment on this kind of "you want it and i've got it" nonsense in a bit more depth. It is just manipulation.......£750:00........my arse! Link to comment Social source share
Goldsoul
Marc......Yes I'm certainly no expert on prices these days, but doesn't the base on which Northern Soul was built, centre around 'turntable demand'? Delrays at present is a cult 45 which hasn't fully crossed over, but it's getting there. Try buying one right now....... Search your price guides and look at others that were given 'a value' and subsequently spiralled to dizzy heights(Tomangoes..now 3k, I think you could get 4!-Hamilton Movement, Rita and the Tiaras and a few more I could mention). Why only 2 weeks ago I called a collector/fan to bag the 7th Ave Aviators on Congress, foolishly selling mine several years ago for 400. I was quoted 900! Is it worth it....no.....but everyone wants it. Thankfully I purchased Frankie Karl on Philtown DJ for 800, which I feel is a bargain at present. With so many DJ's around the world spinning our beloved genre, the demand has gone up for those 'hot, won't go away' 45's. Scal
If Mr. Dobson revitalized "The Snake" or "Cochise".....would they all of a sudden be catapulted into pricey indemanders.......a la Bits n Pieces? Yes I know I am taking the piss; but where does this bollocks begin....and......or, end??? Link to comment Social source share
Modernsoulsucks
Locking this. Too much bumping. Scal, I think that's a fair question to ask in a different forum. ROD [Forum Moderator] Link to comment Social source share
