Mrtag Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Gold vinyl Professionals only know of one copy Darren Can't see Dickie letting that go!!
Rick Cooper Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Darrell Banks- Open the Door c/w Our Love on mint unplayed UK London issue or Volumes on Pama Surely Sandy Golden has been booted by Soussan or did I fall asleep after 2 pages of the recent and ongoing postings. Edited November 21, 2013 by Rick Cooper 1
Becket Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Gerri Hall on UK Sue?!!! :) Oh No. Don't go down the British 45 route. We'll have mention of Darrell Banks London issue , Volumes on Pama and First Choice on Pye , TMG525 R/W demo. Plus more I cannot think of at present.

KevH Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Hi James, how many copies of the "known" Little John? 3?
Chalky Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Is there just one with Mr. butch the other one " I shook the world" is also one copy as well isn't it ? Yep Butch has the only copy as far as I know, many said it didn't exist but it definitely does. He also played it at the last lifeline. Little Johnny Hamilton (Keep On Moving) is a one copy only (the original) as well isn't it, again owned by Butch. The rest are later test presses aren't they? Edited November 21, 2013 by chalky
Scal Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Incidentally, if a big record did come up for sale....Inspirations....Del-Larks......whatever; how many of you chaps would be there bidding? 1
Steve G Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) But Sandy Golden isn't the rarest northern soul record is it? No, true but a non soul collector in Plymouth finds one in a box of non soul material……so what's he to do? I know JM Auction…..gets rich in time for Xmas... Edited November 21, 2013 by Steve G 3
Pete S Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Oh No. Don't go down the British 45 route. We'll have mention of Darrell Banks London issue , Volumes on Pama and First Choice on Pye , TMG525 R/W demo. Plus more I cannot think of at present. Too late!

Premium Stuff Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I reckon it will be a one off thing - probably West Coast Cheers Richard
Pete S Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Who gives a flying f"ck anyway. There will be very few people on here who cam even consider being able to afford to bid on this ROY I'm just thinking that. A couple of hundred quid is most people's top bid. Anyone bidding over a grand, I've got no interest in watching flash people throwing their money about on bits of plastic. 2
Dazdakin Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I think your all forgetting one thing and that is that JM has always billed FW as the rarest 45 on the planet so I think IMHO it will be one of those or another one found. . . Maybe an issue???? Dazz

George G Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Thanks Nev. That would be Paul Ackley from RAFA club serious shades of Soul... a genuine confirmed copy . Counting the eBay copy a couple of yr back, 3 plus a acetate I reckon George.
Popular Post Staceys Dad Posted November 21, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2013 i think its RUSS WINSTANLEYS signed copy of TOMMY HUNTS... " LOVING ON THE LOOSING SIDE".... SPARK DEMO ....priceless.. 9

Dazdakin Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 FW never got beyond a limited demo press, half dozen I think. Nah!! not having that old story, and surprised so many still do, it's motown, its american, they dont press a button unless its to be pressed many times over........do they??
Guest wigan bob Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 cashmeres show stopper on shrine . and just brothers does exist on wand
Rick Cooper Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Oh No. Don't go down the British 45 route. Oops, sorry bout that , just got Darrell Banks and Volumes in before your post, but I'm sure JM would love to sell both these. Rick
Guest sharmo 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 The clue is in the "c/w" in the description....meaning it's a double header! It all points to SG.... Have another look Steve ??? ????/???= the ????/???
Frankie Crocker Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 If it's literally the rarest, it must be one of a kind, therefore the first copy to turn up. Basically a record never seen before but maybe a track heard on a master tape or test press. Surely there must be other records that fit the description? So, it's not in Butch's playbox, maybe something only rumoured to exist but could be an issue of record only seen as a Demo or on a coloured vinyl. I reckon it's a Professionals white demo on red vinyl in a company sleeve...or something similar in an unusual format.
Speedlimit Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 How about a Lester Tipton white demo or a Lada Edmund jr on shrine
boba Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 there are hundreds of one-offs (or "only one known copy" records) that you could call the "rarest" soul record. it has to be a one-off that there is already demand for or that people would get excited about. 2
Quinvy Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Whatever it is his promotion has well and truly worked. Again! I guess a lot will be disappointed. 1
Mark B Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 keep up Mark there was one on ebay a while ago. Missed it but that still makes only 2 copies. Lol
Steve G Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 I think your all forgetting one thing and that is that JM has always billed FW as the rarest 45 on the planet so I think IMHO it will be one of those or another one found. . . Maybe an issue???? Dazz Sorry but I mark Chalky right on this. Plenty of records never got beyond demo on major labels. and just brothers does exist on wand Ever seen one Bob?
Jim G Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Any idea when all will be revealed? Also note the ORIGINAL is in upper case in the description is that another clue e.g. It is not an acetate? I know it ain't meant to exist but is it the Originals "suspicion" Edited November 22, 2013 by jim g
Guest in town Mikey Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Tease should really give the game away. For all you guys used to finding the link in the cover up title to the actual track being played I'd have thought this was easy Its my old copy of Lighten Up by Larry Atkins. It fell out of its sleve and ended up in about 8 bits. The tease bit, is beacuse every time you try to take it out of the sleeve a little bit more comes off.
Tony Smith Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Any idea when all will be revealed? Also note the ORIGINAL is in upper case in the description is that another clue e.g. It is not an acetate? I know it ain't meant to exist but is it the Originals "suspicion" Thought John had already had, and sold that years ago??
Tony Smith Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 How about a Lester Tipton white demo or a Lada Edmund jr on shrine  Neither of these exist! 1
Dazdakin Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Sorry but I mark Chalky right on this. Plenty of records never got beyond demo on major labels. I know that, what I am saying is if there is one two three then there IS somewhere an awfull lot more. . . Somewhere Ever seen one Bob?
Ady Croasdell Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Nope, this doesn't exist sorry….. Neither did Walter Wilson Steve but I believe you now have the one I found! Or has your research unearthed evidence of its non-pressing?
Steve G Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Neither did Walter Wilson Steve but I believe you now have the one I found! Or has your research unearthed evidence of its non-pressing? Yes I reckon so, the only Pete Garris sourced record to appear on Wand was the first one on Garrison "Humphrey Stomp"....all the later ones were put on Garris's own label. Edited November 22, 2013 by Steve G
Godzilla Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 No need to speculate further: it's Backfield in Motion. I just heard Ian Dewhurst's trousers explode. 2
Steve G Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) The JM tease has changed to: The world’s RAREST Northern Soul Classic ORIGINAL! That rather changes the direction of play then.... Edited November 22, 2013 by Steve G
