arnie j Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 hi soul people, whats the score with the 2 releases of this ? im assuming the big 3 release was first cos thats the one that people seem to want and its much more expensive ? i have the cheaper chimneyville release and cant hear any difference to the big 3 release?,just interested, lovely little ditty whatever label you choose, thanks jason
JOE TORQUAY Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 i've got Mckinley Mitchell / you know i've tried on one-derful & chimneyville and there defo different cuts, one-derful is more r &b than the other which sounds like it's been dumbed down a bit chimneyville is a later label i think than big 3 or wonderful. joe 1
Prophonics 2029 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I have both YKIT and I have 2 very different records from different eras. It sounds more like the CV was a revamped 70ts reissued and rerecorded.
Jnixon Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 big 3 issue was first and i still think its a £30 tune regardless of ebay fluctuation. never owned a chimneyville one whats on the flip of it?
Only Dreaming Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) I've had both the Big 3 and Chimneyville issues of "days got bright" and they are the same mix/cut/recording or watever you want to call it. Big 3 release came out in 1976 with the Chimneyville following it in 1977. I have to agree with JNixon that the Big 3 release is a £30 record tops. "trouble blues" is also the flip of the Chimneyville release. Great tune btw. Dave Edited November 15, 2013 by Only Dreaming 1
Jnixon Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 oh ok thanks for that. im not missing out then id pay 30 for trouble blues alone. very nice tune. and the dancer deserves some plays for sure

Andybellwood Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 forgotten about this flip - now playing at home every day....might get a spin on Sunday -what a tune
Jnixon Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 forgotten about this flip - now playing at home every day....might get a spin on Sunday -what a tune haunting synths make it for me. kind of tradition meets modernity. 1
