Pete S Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Vel-vets - I Got To Find Me Somebody - 20th. Century demo £242 Why would anyone pay so much for this, I had one on my list for 125 a fortnight ago...come to think of it, why DO people pay double or even treble the prices of items on those particular auctions, it makes no sense to me, do they get some kind of thrill by paying X amount and telling people about it...while anyone ITK would be laughing at them

Guest Johnny One Trout Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Glen Miller - Where Is The Love - Doctor Bird £357 link Well at least there's one that went for about the going rate if not a little cheaper!!!
Pete S Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Well at least there's one that went for about the going rate if not a little cheaper!!! link Trust me, that is overpriced for a Doctor Bird single, I had about 120 of the label before I sold them and the most I ever paid was £75 for The Paragons. I sold Glen Miller for £100 but it was Fair at best. Not saying that it isn't the going rate for it on the soul scene but if you're a reggae collector you just wouldn't pay anything like that. It must be super-rare on Stag though.
Guest Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Hi Pete, saw it for sale earlier this year on ebay, Glen Miller on Stag.

John link I've got that listed as "Our Country Needs Love" John (but confusingly, the B side as you titled it)...Moodisc 7430 (thats a matrix, very few have catalogue numbers on the label) Pete
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Bugger yes your right Pete, the flip is a semi instrumental version credited to another band (Can't think who without looking) If you ever come across one on Moodisc I'm looking John
