Cunnie Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Know David Gest is not the most popular person in the world but you gotta give him credit for getting Little Anthony on these shores for the first time. Link shows where.https://www.davidgestonline.com/david-gests-legends-of-soul-live-concert/
night nurse Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 He's more popular than the last pair of moron's who promised us Little Antony, Martin Who can forget the Nottingham Palais alldayer debarcle, Did anyone get their money back or are the claims still being processed you mean trandy soul presents lol
Julie Moore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Well I for one hope its a genuine goer better get saving my pennies up
Julie Moore Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I hope Mr Gest doesn't suffer the same negative response to his promotion than the other pair got on this forum , but then again this one looks like a proper job. Hope so John How`s it going my friend ...........long time no see xx
Ian Parker Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 He's more popular than the last pair of moron's who promised us Little Antony, Martin Who can forget the Nottingham Palais alldayer debarcle, Did anyone get their money back or are the claims still being processed I never got a refund..... Still waiting if you're reading this 1
Paul McKay Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I WENT TO ONE OF HIS SHOWS AT hAMMERSMITH A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. sAID TO MYSELF I'D NEVER GO TO ONE AGAIN, BUT IT WAS THE AUDIENCE NOT THE ACTS THAT WERE THE PROBLEM. HOPEFULLY AT A BUTLINS IT WILL BE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SEE THE ACTS RATHER THAN DAVID GEST!
Cunnie Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Keeping a low profile nowadays Julie, hope your fine. Just had a look on the tour dates though and there ain't much for the East midlands One of the TBA date's might be Leicester John. Not confirmed yet but it's possibly De Montfort Hall. Showing as blank dates on their site so err, watch this space as they say....
KevH Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Seems strange to pay up to £60 to see a shaven chimp who used to piss about with Judy garland. It's a nice line up but I really don't want to waste my time listening to him name-dropping and talking crap like he did when he was in that jungle crap. if it is just the music then yes please. ,i thought i was a grumpy barsteward.!!! 1
Soulman Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 To be honest I don't mind the David Gest shows although it is very much a conveyer belt system... act one - two songs and off, act two two or three songs and off, act three etc etc. The only down side to this new show is that it is just Little Anthony without the Imperials. Now that is such a shame. Also the only Northern track you are likely to hear would be "Better Use Your Head" and I would have thought that unlikely. Just my thoughts of course Steve
Ian Parker Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 David gest had the crowd in stitches at butlitz earlier this year. He dressed daft, he looked daft, but he's a clever guy with pedigree. I can't see little Anthony belting out 'better use your head'. But what a pleasure it will be just to see and hear him on stage.
Chalky Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 A trip to Scunny or Hull on the cards hopefully.

pikeys dog Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I reckon you'll get Tears On My Pillow, I'm On The Outside Looking In and if you are lucky you might get Hurt So Bad and Goin' Out Of My Head.
Rupert Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I never got a refund..... Still waiting if you're reading this me too waiting
scunnyjack Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 A trip to Scunny or Hull on the cards hopefully. I'll be at 2nd show in Scunny Chalky, great venue but maybe ambitious putting two shows on. Steve
Dave West Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I reckon you'll get Tears On My Pillow, I'm On The Outside Looking In and if you are lucky you might get Hurt So Bad and Goin' Out Of My Head. i reckon you'll get two tracks maximum . Gests last outings sang only one or two tracks each. Dave
Dean Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 me too waiting I wonder if LA management are aware if the Trandy debacle? Would that offer insight into the sorry affair? Might turn up with my ticket saying I thought it was re-arranged.
Guest JIM BARRY Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 It wasn't Judy Garland he was knocking about with, it was her daughter Liza Minnelli.
Guest Invictus Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 “Gest confirms he will bring 10 Motown and soul legends on UK-wide tour ” “Gest says: “I am thoroughly excited about my most extensive tour of the UK ” As far as I can see not a UK tour but an English and Wales tour.. You’r a fanny Gest
AlanB Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) As far as I can see not a UK tour but an English and Wales tour.. Scheduled for Motherwell on 16/2. Might have done better in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Two shows on the day too, bit optimistic hoping for turnout at 5pm I think. Edited January 4, 2014 by AlanB

A very professional show. Which you would expect as they are regular performers @ Vegas Cheers Paul 1

Saxafone Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Bognor Regis for us and if he sings Hurt so Bad that will be enough for me .... Bearsy, I'd so some checking up on that Bognor date. Don't want your ticker going all loopy again when you Marie and Hercules rock up to find it's a 90s revisited event . Although, with your collection you'd probably get a DJ spot Although shown on the tour dates, when we looked to book the soul weekender wasn't showing for Bognor on Butlin's site.................... don't think it is now either. Ahh sheeet, we've gone and booked advance train tix for a mission to N Wales now so can't change plans. Have a gooden Paul - and have a Happy 65th birthday whilst you are there I did check again on the Butlin's web site and it doesn't seem to mention the soul acts, just the rather dodgy looking 80's shindig. There again if the Keith Harris geezer listed is the one with Orville, you'll have a great time. Watch out as well for the tribute to George Michael act - you don't want some geezer sneaking up and noshing you in the khazi Taff Ultimate 80s Fri 31 Jan 2014 - Mon 03 Feb 2014 (3 nights) Headliners Jaki Graham Sheila Ferguson CeCe Peniston Candi Staton Bad Manners Keith Harris and friends The Lambrettas GET A QUOTE Plus Tribute to Michael Jackson Tribute to George Michael Tribute to Bryan Adams Tribute to UB40 Tribute to The Jam Tribute to Blondie Tribute to Depeche Mode Tribute to George Benson Bognor Regis Resort Edited January 8, 2014 by Saxafone
