Roburt Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Just coz it's an old 60's UK mod / soul club classic, I'd put the Hit Pack's "Never Say No To Your Baby" on one side of one of these 7's. Not too much was ever known about the group, though I believe they were only a 'studio creation' and probably consisted of Robert Dobyne (lead vocals), Robert Staunton & Robert Walker with the Andantes on back up. 3
Guest tommymac Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Isley brothers sure is a whole lotta woman has to be my top choice any of the JJ Barnes tracks, touch of Venus actually any of the unreleased tracks from the cellarful compilation CDs . Anyway from what I hear there's a box set vol2 due out next easter and a vol3 after that so we may get our wishes, but wish they would hurry up have been waiting years for this, and if they don't get there fingers out I could have popped me clogs lol

Kev Cane Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Paul Williams "Once you had a heart" from Smudger's original post is so good, I can't find the words to describe it Kev 1
Pete S Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'd have had to include Suspicion and Crying In The Night but also Carolyn Crawford "Until You Came Along", I don't think she ever made anything less than brilliant for Motown 1
Kev Cane Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Tough call, but if you had my balls in a vice, this is my favourite Originals record, from the pen of Marvin, this is the album version on the fantastic "Portrait" set Kev 1
Jordirip Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Paul Williams "Once you had a heart" from Smudger's original post is so good, I can't find the words to describe it Kev I was thinking the same Kev, I've never heard that before but it's flippin' amazing. 1

Pete S Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Different strokes and all that I appreciate that not everyone likes the same thing. But it sounded like track 6 side 2 of an album.
Shinehead Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I appreciate that not everyone likes the same thing. But it sounded like track 6 side 2 of an album. So did Carolyn Crawford to me .
Pete S Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) So did Carolyn Crawford to me . Well thought out comeback Graham - is your Dad bigger than my Dad as well? Edited November 12, 2013 by Pete S 1
Shinehead Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Well thought out comeback Graham - is your Dad bigger than my Dad as well? Why comment on records you do not like , its all about opinions . As for the last comment I much doubt it.
Pete S Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Why comment on records you do not like , its all about opinions . As for the last comment I much doubt it. Dunno, because it's a discussion forum maybe? If it's all about opinions - why can't I have one?
Shinehead Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Dunno, because it's a discussion forum maybe? If it's all about opinions - why can't I have one? Just thought people were posting up records they thought that deserved a 7 inch release in their view .
Pete S Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Just thought people were posting up records they thought that deserved a 7 inch release in their view . It was only because he said he couldn't find words to describe it, so I thought of one for him. T'was a joke. Never mind. I'll be off.
