So here's the deal. You've just bought a rather large dining table that seats 10.

Simple really, you have to invite 9 guests that are connected to the soul scene for a meal.

They can be artists, dj's or friends, dead or alive. Who do you invite?

Here's my 9 in no particular order.

Richard Searling.

Lamont Dozier.

Roger Williams (like to think he shares my sense of humour).

Soul Sam (but not sat next to Roger :( )

Aretha Franklin.

Harold Melvin (close call between HM & Teddy Pendergrass).

Angie Stone (to keep us all in order :( )

Mark Randle (the voice of reason :( )

My mate Errol Green (he'd never speak to me again if i didn't ask him).

No Marvin Gaye :D , well what the hell do you think we are listening to for background music.

Almost forgot, your butler is Shane H as he knows how to put everything in the right place :(

Remember this is just a bit of fun so no stupid comments please.

Shane Higgins.............Membership cards would be needed :D

Nina Simone...............A little sing song round the piano..

Marvin Gaye...............You always need some after dinner mints to get the joint jumpin :(

Dusty Springfield........Would love to chat about her walkout from gig in South Africa :(

Dave Godin................Would ask Dave to drop the northern and just say rare soul scene..

John Weston.............Every party needs one of these..Could Nina understand him :(

Ray Pollard..............To thank him for bringing the Drifter into my life.. :(

Jerry Butler..............One of my all time greats..He could chill out the moody woman above

Keith Money............Great extra dj for when John slides under the table...

That sounds like a great dinner party to me....Plenty dope....Deep soul karaoke from some of my all time greats..To first class djs double decking...And then Shane the yorkshireman taking John Weston's empty bottles back and making a few hundred quid on the side...It all ends with Kenny turning up as the taxi driver and white knuckle ride home for the brothers and sisters :(:( ..
