Pete S Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Wouldn't think it was legit unless it was released by Ace Records

Pete Eccles Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Booted, on the back of Terry Davies Championing both sides at Prestwich in it's heyday, both were only commonly known as album tracks, JT subsequently surfaced on a couple of euro releases, That's how I remember it anyway, Edited October 25, 2013 by Pete60 1
Mrtag Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Only released on French Atlantic (650 147) nice bright yellow label plus picture sleeve "b" side Watermelon Man, Don't know of any other legit 7" single releases. Edited October 25, 2013 by mrtag

Mrtag Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Also a 7" EP p/s origin escapes me, You're right Pete there was talk of an Ep think that was supposed to be French also but could have easily been mistaken for the single because of the picture sleeve.
Soul-slider Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 The Otis Redding track first surfaced on a CD compilation, no vinyl (except the one in discussion) exists.

I'm sure this came out on some kind of LP ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004WNBJ/202-4694108-2135804 Edited October 25, 2013 by donkit 1
Nocker Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Loving by the Pound Otis Redding is Kent Select CITY008. Legit Cheesr John
Windlesoul Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) I've got the French Stax JT EP. It has same front pic sleeve as the JT reissue / boot whatever. The Stax French JT is a bit low fi (well more just low volume) compared to the French Atlantic one. Edited October 25, 2013 by Windlesoul
Mick Sway Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) Lovin' by the pound, also appeared on Kent's stunning "Do the Crossover" CD from 1993. Both this and "Let's Crossover Again" were fabulous sets, despite their cheesy names, containing rare and unreleased Stax/Volt group tracks. Bout time Adey got his finger out and "Crossed Over Again,Again" (please). Loads of stuff they could put out on them, including the wonderfully throbbing "Blues in the night". This tunes real deep down in your bones base groove, fab! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Do-Crossover-Various-Artists/dp/B0000013B7/?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1382785645&sr=1-1&keywords=do+the+crossover Edited October 26, 2013 by Mick Sway 1
