I once told someone on the scene I had just bought a Rose Valentine RCA issue and he reply "no you haven't it doesn't exist"?

Yeah I've had that a few times, remember getting a Don Ray issue after I was told there wasn't one - and case in point, the Dean Courtney MGM issue of which I still haven't seen another copy..I think the Bev Ann is a DJ at that price
