Popular Post Tfk Posted October 24, 2013 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Just to give you the thumbs up on one of the most exciting new releases for the coming month in the shape of the much awaited release of the previously unissued set by The Coalitions called "Colour me Blue" . This amazing "Colour me Blue" session was recorded in Philadelphia over 30 years ago but never saw the light of day or a release at the time , a fairly recent discovery of this unissued set saw those guys at "Soul Junction Records" straight in and on the case and they have now committed a release date of the full album both on vinyl and CD format for Monday the 4th November 2013. Another great example of some of the previously unissued / unavailable material that is seeing the light of the day in the 2000s . This set covers all styles of soul music - uptempo/downtempo/deep/gospel and a couple of funky disco tracks to for good measures ... Your in for a real treat for sure !!! A superb set all the way through . Kick back and enjoy "The Coalitions " in 2013https://www.souljunctionrecords.co.uk/SJLP5006.html More info to follow very very soon . tfkCoalitions-ColourMeBlue-SJLP5006.mp3 Edited October 24, 2013 by tfk 4
Popular Post Steve G Posted October 24, 2013 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Yes agree. Played two tracks off of it on the radio at the beginning of the month. Soul junction does the bizness once again! And we can trace the Coalitions right back to Little Tony Talent - good old fashioned niter sound. Also coming unissued J B Bingham tracks...they're very good too. Edited October 24, 2013 by Steve G 4
Dennisoul Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) The whole LP is tremendous Andy....mind blowing that stuff like this is still being unearthed and a whole LPs worth of tunes at that.....Another beauty from Soul Junction. Hammersoul Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Bob Smith been playing the cd-r on our show for a while so i was very happy when my vinyl copy arrived a few weeks ago Have to say it`s amazing how this never got a release back in the day . Whole A-side is quality and at least 3 good tracks on the b-side after one spin. This lp will be getting a few spins on our next 2/3 radio shows. Again another quality release from the Soul Junction gang, look forward to the next release . 2
Scotters Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Looking forward to getting a copy of this real soon. Honestly makes my day when I learn of another Soul Junction release. Maybe a steer on what's next for a winter warmer or two over Christmas?!
boba Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I'm confused about this. Was this recorded and finished in 1979? It sounds like there are some things in the mix that are from later than 1979. Am I just mishearing? Thanks.

Louise Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) Only a week to go before the Coalitions album hits the streets and the pre sales response has been fantastic. We've even had one ex professional footballer order two copies by mistake, he atributed this to a very heavy night, well how many times do you see Coventry City win away from home this days sorry Mick Yes Soul Junction have managed to do the unthinkable and have proved that not all 'Coalitions' are unpopular Dave Edited October 27, 2013 by Louise 3

Hi Bob The prject began in 1979 and was completed in 1981, but you should be able to hear that when your copy eventually lands on your door mat. There should be plenty of tracks which will fit perfectly into your show. At least 7 out of the 9 tracks on the album have recieved extensive airplay over here in the UK to date.
