Smudger Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Just looked on discogs and found this referencing Magic Corner / Grounded, 7", M-106 Magic Corner was the Main Song the A side for Beita Woods. It ws released twice in 1967 in Detroit. Ollie Mc Laughlin closed his business declared bankruptcy and when to Atlanta to Stax Records a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. He re-released it in 1969. I'm C Williams nmarcad@aim.com referencing Magic Corner / Grounded, 7", M-106 Burrell and Varner did not write Magic Corner their names were put on the record label. Ben Knight wrote the lyrics to Magic Corner not Curtis Williams or C Williams on the record. Ben Knight put the words to my (C Williams) music. I was young and was angry at him for something so I did not give him credit for writing Magic Corner. I apologies Ben Knight Ben Knight ?
Dave Moore Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Ben Knight was with Detroit group/trio, Brothers of Soul. Ben Knight wasn't the original Knight member though , that was Richard Knight. (no relation as far as I know). It's Richard that is primarily the Knight of Bridges Knight and Eaton fame. Ben Knight joined the group after their late 609s outings. I think, without checking, around 1969. Hope this helps. Regards, Dave 1
