However, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, he'd already sold these two records on september the 1st. Same identical copies. And a Mary Love with no centre for £176! 1
Spook Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hi Pete, I was initially watching the Ordinary Joe Cadet demo he put up and then withdrew, I just presumed he sold it outside of Evil bay.
Little-stevie Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 https://www.ebay.co.uk/csc/monkly2/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=48&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1 Seller getting amazing prices for stuff, including a Chubby Checker at £454 and a Gene McDaniels at £76. What you saying Pete????? does this mean he aint got them for sale and will take your cash and run?????
Pete S Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 No I'm wondering how he can sell these two records, and then a month later he can sell the same identical records. Unless someone allegedly bid on them for him to stop them selling for prices too low, so he doesn't have to sell them. I'd love to see the list of bidders on his other stuff to see how he managed to get such high prices on everything. But I could be totally wrong and it's all legit. 1
Guest DELORENZO Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) If you do look at the bids, there's one with 30 feedback whose always bidding on the old and more recent, bit suspect ????? https://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=monkly2&ftab=FeedbackLeftForOthers ajcrellen 30* - is suspect wins the Gene McDaniels - Walk With A Winner on the 12th sept and just misses out this time round ????? Derek Pearson Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I can see exactly where you're coming from on this Pete but at the risk of me sounding very naive there is the slim, outside chance that he or his mate (or between them) have/has multiple copies of said records and the seller had just re-used the same scan. In the world of buying and selling anything is possible. Derek

Buyer could have backed out and if he did a Second Chance Offer nobody interested anymore. However in my experience, sadly I have to say, it could well be dodgy, guess we'll never know. Now !! Something that is disputable is this guy, check out his feedback, how many copies of Art Freeman and James Barnett does this bloke have ? https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=famerod&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2776 I count about 20 Art Freemans within a 12 month period !!

Chris Turnbull Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Just came across this one today on Ebay, now ended - hope you can see the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/timi-yuro-itll-never-be-over-for-me-united-artists-/141089364892?pt=UK_Records&hash=item20d994db9c If you can't, there is a photo of Timi Yuro 'It'll never be over for me' on UK Liberty, with the following description (for what sense it makes):- "massive floor filler - again scan has been put onto record on b sibe is garnet mimms looking for you, label scan not put on by me" Finished with 12 bids at £34.00 Wonder who paid £34 for it, and what they think they're getting? Some funny things going on

Britmusicsoulfan Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 The one that is listing all of those Art Freeman 45s is a chap that works at Fame Studios, hence all of the mint copies being offered.
Mike Lofthouse Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 As I intimated earlier it is Rick Hall's son Rodney Hall. I had hoped the comment that he was 'disputable' would of been removed or at least retracted. It's a disgrace that it remains in a topic titled 'Dodgy Dealings?' Mike
Dave Moore Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 The Chubby Checker has received positive feedback from the buyer. Looks Kosher to me? Regards, Dave
Pete S Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 The Chubby Checker has received positive feedback from the buyer. Looks Kosher to me? Regards, Dave Yeah and as I said, it had been sold previously to that, same copy, same sleeve, same seller.
Dave Moore Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Yeah and as I said, it had been sold previously to that, same copy, same sleeve, same seller. Looks like first seller gave backword Pete? Regards, Dave
Pete S Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Looks like first seller gave backword Pete? Regards, Dave There's more than one record he's sold twice Dave.
Dave Moore Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 There's more than one record he's sold twice Dave. Does look a bit odd. Anyone contacted him? I'd bet my house at least some of the buyers are members on here. Regards, Dave.
Pete S Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Does look a bit odd. Anyone contacted him? I'd bet my house at least some of the buyers are members on here. Regards, Dave. Not much point really - we aren't the police or anything. I'm just thinking that the first time it was advertised, someone bid it up so that it wouldnt go for less than they wanted it to, and it didn't make it so it went to the mate - second time, mate bids it up again but someone outbids him this time, record is sold once and for all. Though the Gene McDaniels sold for less the second time than it did the first time. Of course someone could have two copies of Chubby Checker - I once had a demo and an issue at the same time - but 2 issues, unlikely. So, I might as well close this one now, nothing more to add really.
Guest john s Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 So, I might as well close this one now, nothing more to add really. Apart,of course, from 'Don't bid on this seller's records, no bargains here!' ;)
Pete S Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 This seller is at it again with his shill bidding mate, Mick Smith bid on 8 of these yesterday and was outbid by the same bidder on everyone, a bidder who only appears to have ever bidded on this sellers records, won a couple and then given them back to him to be sold for a second time https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/monkly2/m.html?item=151168828610&pt=UK_Records&hash=item23325d44c2&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 1
sonnyboy Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 The crazy thing is that every time he sells them to himself he has to pay ebay their sales fee which is 10% . So he is losing money every time he does it.
viphitman Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 ah well on a more sinister note .... a good & fast return on clean money
boba Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 this is amusingly stupid. one bid at $400? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NORTHERN-SOUL-THE-INSPIRATIONS-45-WHAT-AM-I-GONNA-DO-WITH-YOU-HEY-BABY-/141120283948?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item20db6ca52c because their starting bid is so low that they need to shill it? come on.
