Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere on the site but Bobby 'Capri' Barrucco, lead vocalist of the Velvet Satins passed away on October 3rd.

Fabulous track...superb vocal delivery, and such a pounding musical arrangement and performance...iconic...yet ironic in that it's not a classic '4 beats to the bar' rhythm, thus making it a little tricky to 'side to side' dance to! Who cares...it is Northern Soul!

I've owned the same 'red swirl WD' copy for more years than I care to remember...even found the rarer 'block print WD' over here, but couldn't bring myself to part with my long-serving copy...would have been like selling an old friend!

 

Thank you Bobby for providing part of the soundtrack to my youth and beyond. RIP

Sad to hear. Instant urge to dance to this record, but it's a very accurate measure of how much older I am than when I first heard it!
