Can't find the album. Means I probably sold it   What a c*nt I am. I still have so much dross from my soulful dance days and it looks like I sold the goodies.

I'm not such a c*nt after all. Found the double album the other day. Fantastic tracks. Brought back many memories.

Great thread, this - picked up some top tunes on here so thought I'd post a few of my own to say thanks! Hope something of interest:-

Kimiesha Holmes - Ups and Downs (Yellorange)

Jasper St. Co - Till I found you (Basement Boys)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIjPSw82C5I

Cheers, Chris.

Great choices fella............in the weekly quest for the best new releases, I'll never forget being completely floored by the intro to Kimiesha Holmes.......a real fave of mine to this day on Tony Humphries excellent, now defunkt Yellorange label.

And Jasper St. Company was one of the records responsible for me really taking notice of the genre seriously.........it caught my ear when I heard it on Solar Radio when it first came back as a legal station, and I've been poor ever since! LOL

Pieces of class with great personal memories attached to them for me, so thanks for posting these great choices fella!

Cheers,

Mark R

Ok I'M THE F*&^%^ WITCH HUNTER here boys... proud of it..

Tons of favorites, just got Patrice Rushen - Remind Me on Electra, which is sublime, smooth jazz funk influenced soulful track, can I say more.. :D

here's some of my favorites:

Christian Prommers Drumlesson - Can You Feel It in fact he did lots of versions, Strings Of Live is also brill

Ten City - That's The Way Love Is, in fact anything they ever did!!!

Lonnie Liston Smith - Expansions / RCA 12

Family Of Eve - Please be Truthful (Alternate Take)

Shabazz - Glad Your in My Life,

Lynden David Hall - Livin the Lie,

Grant Green Feat Dianne Reeves - Down here on the Ground

Blaze  - Sweeter Than the Day Before

A Man Called Adam - Earthly Powers

Tonite - Those Guys / MCA

Bobby womack - How could you Love me more / arista 12

Howard Johnson - Keepin Love New / funk America

LJ Reynolds -Key to the world / capitol

if you like jazz influenced stuff: Circle in the Round - Devil of Cruelty/Dorado and IZIT- Stories, which borrows heavily from Chakachas's "Stories" well its a cover from the late 8ts house scene, but great in its own right, also Black Music Orchestra - Jersey City Deep is brilliant, as Don Carlos - Alone.. Rose Royce - Still in Love is also brill on 12...Sounds of Blackness - The Pressure (Knuckles classic mix) is simply THE BOMB!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ-K4torNLw

My House collection is all on 12 inches, and i love every last one of them...especially Liaisons D - Future FJP,Force Legato - System , Dr baker - KaOS, Pret - A - Porter - Mystere De L' Amovr and all my renegade sound wave tracks... KICK ASS!! Frankie Knuckles - The Whistle Song and the daddy Reese - 'Rock To The Beat'!!!!!Meat Beat Manifesto - Radio Babylon, Mr. Fingers - Washing Machine, if you like to twist your melon man!!! Xpansions - Move Your Body, Young MC - Know How,Hashim - Al Naafiysh

actually I recon some of you boys might like this one, Big record at the time, a grower as they say, but it appealed to my Northern soul sensibility straight away...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6-EEn3dBiA

its all good on twelve inch chaps...

Malcolm

a couple from '93 that got played at lovehouse last night in cheshire, by Stoke's finest Dabba. Not heard either out in ages and sounded fantastic on a big system.

The later defines what garage was all about in the early 9ts, before the UK dicks got involved.

A bit harsh a lot of good stuff came out of the UK...but also some real rubbish too !...That's the main reason why we released a lot of stuff on Stateside labels e.g. Nervous/4th Floor/Red Melon due to the prejudice...i always remember Todd Terry & Erik Morillo playing one of our tracks thinking it was US ! Pete Heller put them right !

I remember 'Slave To The Vibe' as an eagerly- awaited new release. Having heard it out and about and on pirates, etc, I ran down to the record shop at lunchtime on the first day it came out on import.

Unfortunately it was straight after a looooong weekend and I went out for just a few drinks after work..Needless to say I left the record either in the pub or on the tube home..... :(

It stands up as a good record though . Not pitched up like that clip though, and the 30 secs or more of 'beats' they used to put at the front of everything in that era is slightly off putting for me nowadays...

i was thinking of the bastardisation of the term garage, the uk garage scene, in the late 9ts tina moore- never let you go, RIP groove ect, shite imho, but yeah there was certainly good uk product, from labels like, 'hot', 'azuli'  amongst others, I've made the assumption thats things were us released and noticed uk producers names on there too sorry for any offence you obviously know your stuff, but think you missunderstood my intention

those tunes were always intended to be mixed, hence the beats, hard to programme otherwise. It got played 3 times in one night by parks @ the Hac, then faded like so many other worthy vocals of that era.
