Peter99 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Peter, Make sure you keep the tape running for "Charles Bradley: The Soul Of America" which follows the Marvin docu. Hi Dave Is the Charles Bradley programme different to the one that aired ealrier this year? I've seen that and have it recorded somewhere - great programme and a great talent. Peter

Philippe Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) So how was the Marvin documentary ? Was it a previously known DVD or a totally new (English) docu ? English documentaries usually are great quality. Edited September 29, 2013 by Philippe
Premium Stuff Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) Really enjoyed both programmes. I found out a lot about Marvin Gaye and didn't realise before what a troubled soul he was. Wow - that man Charles Bradley can sing. He's had, and is still having, a tough life - as his whole family seems to have. A resounding theme between both films was that the incredible soulfulness of both singers was rooted in trauma and drama in their personal lives - the harder things got the better and more soulful their singing became - very interesting Cheers Richard Edited September 29, 2013 by Premium Stuff 2
