September 24, 201311 yr Bought this one drunken night .............. regretted it in the morning. Thing is, I got offered a box of them - luckily I only had my bus fare home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6934gBRdtoc Edited September 24, 201311 yr by JimK

September 24, 201311 yr Wombat - I'm Gettin' On Life (Gemni) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux6Fj5zXLJs Hated it with a vengeance for the last 40 years but now I think it's a fascinating slice of social commentary. Plus anyone who decides his one shot at stardom will be aided by calling himself Wombat deserves a vote ay? Ian D Edited September 24, 201311 yr by Ian Dewhirst

September 25, 201311 yr There was quite a large thread called 'guilty pleasures' a while back that covered this.
September 25, 201311 yr i always prefered the flip side on that Wombat record,..was it called something like a "guy like me"
September 25, 201311 yr Can never justify this but many many times I'll be walking down a street (or indeed up some steps) with this in my head. Bought the canadian LP a while back to justify the OVO side of guilty pleasures. Wouldn't want to hear it out unless I was in some emotionally altered state. Linda and The Funky Boys - Climbing the Steps of Love Was just listening to this a couple of days ago, I still like it, and saw them live a couple of times back in the day - Tommy Hunt, also on Spark - Loving on the losing side... brilliant! OOPS! Did I just say that out loud.........
January 10, 20196 yr I expect there will be members here who own a copy of this record and are unaware of how this artists life unfolded in the years that followed. In my opinion it's one of the best UK releases from 1987, however, another "release" looks unlikely for him. I've often considered whether I should still have it in my collection for reasons that can be found here: https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4371967.stm
