The winning bid was £ 62.00 Reflections Like Adam And Eve This weeks contender for the “Black Is Beautiful” trophy is a pristine copy of this Northern Soul anthem. So rarely witnessed as the colourful ABC Paramount STOCK copy and this example is like new! I do vividly remember the first time I heard this New York produced powerhouse dance tune, in The Highland Room Blackpool circa 1973. Whether it was Ian Levine or Colin Curtis that played it, it was one of the “Stand-out” sounds of the evening, along with Linda Jones - Just Can’t Live My Life and Dave Love’s Colalined Baby - those 3 stuck with me all the way home and long into decades to come. This tune is obviously more associated with Wigan Casino a perfectly fashioned frantic proper-style Northern Soul that was the touch-paper for acrobatics on the floor. 40n years on, today, the pioneers of dance will be more excited by that most-alluring sleeve, label scan and the perfect condition that lies beneath.
