Mike Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 interesting that even if nothing is found its still considered newsworthy https://www.burnleyexpress.net/news/crime/drugs-swoop-at-padiham-soul-night-1-6022429
Guest ritchie Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) That headline should really read "Swoop at Padinham Soul Night" And why an editorial picture of a half smoked spliff? I always find it amusing when the authorities try and make worthy copy from failed drugs raids... Sgt Mick Burnett, of Padiham Police, "hailed the operation a success" Edited September 8, 2013 by ritchie
Philt Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Feeds and maybe fed, at least in part, by thirty five year old stereotypes i guess Mike. If they searched nights regularly there'd be some serious Sanatogen questions to answer. The media does like a "reveller" doesn't it. Can't remember the last time I revelled; feel like I'm missing out. 2
Premium Stuff Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 That is good news isn't it though? Everyone always says the news is bad, about death, murder, war, strife all the time. They say - can't we have some good news? Well now you have it! Richard 1
dthedrug Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 HELLO! A LO, INSPECTOR CORNER OF THE YARD, HERE, Did you no that the cost of a raid like this one, is half of the budget tat the drug services in a town like Burnley have in a year & it's 2/3 of the police budget, That means that the success that was reported in the rag, tells every dealer that they can't afford to do another till next April?? I say ACAB DAVE K 2
Mr Smithy Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 So can we assume the punters were all clever bu**ers, not good bu**ers?

I say ACAB DAVE K Many years ago in Liecester Dave there was a copper who used to carry out drug raids that didnt cost the local Old Bill budget a penny,he was a unifrom plod, had been one for some years, got himself a bit of a craving for the old china white and elephant stamp of the day and started breaking into chemists while on the job,he was eventually caught early one morning climbing back out the hole he had brace and bitted in the back door with a shopping bag filled with the contents of the dda.Pc Woods if I recall correctly was his name.A non soul scene Liecester lad we know told us about it.First time I got nicked for chemists was over there and when they had me in the interview room, couple squad, reynolds and potts, pair of bill and bens and their boss a d i were all sitting there and I asked them how Pc Woods was doing and it really hit the spot, their replys being that dirty bastard,c..t, who told you about that etc.I reckon that must have rankled with them for years, makes you wonder in a way how many more like that, carrying out raids solely for their own consumption???? ps Wonder if he was knocking out what he didnt want in the plod shop canteen, bombers ,dexys how about some filon to keep yer plodships awake and alert on the beat when on nightshift, bit of help to get themsize 14 s shifting when chasing a shifty chavvy?you spot lurking round the back of the shops with a jemmy in hand.(long as hes not in uniform!)
