I have just received an upfront promo of Alexander O'Neal 'Lord' and imho I think it is pretty damn good. I did hear it out a few months back in it's original form I believe, but it's had some new mixes courtesy of Bah Samba who give it a club edge that still retains the soulfulness. Reckon it's gonna do pretty well on the floors and I'm roadtesting it this weekend.

Has anyone elese heard these new mixes and what do they think?

My personal favourite is the 'Bah Samba Mix'

Clipped this off a Deep House podcast floating around on the web for ease of use...not the whole thing but an idea.

Actually that's not the same mix as the bah samba one...it's the Bah Sonic one (just checked back)

Will do!

I'm guessing it will work nicely. It has the hooky Cheryl Lynn sample so it's got that 'feelgood' factor but also a credible, soulfulness to appeal to the more discerning of us imo.

Been playing it at Family Tree nights - getting a good response - Bah Samba mix is the only one to play.

The Cheryl Lynn - "Got To Be Real" sample bubbling away in the background gives the record its appeal.
