Cheers Fred,

Don't think a lot realise that the Logo refers to the Scooter Club and not the Club itself direct. You would think that they would push a nominal 'Donation' across as a mark of respect.

Terry

Your right Terry. Fred Perry could of donated a few pieces to the charity auction, they had a launch party and donated one of the dresses with the logos to the DJ

A mutual friend of ours sent an email to Fred Perry regarding them making a donation and they didn't even respond

Talking about dressing up, some of the older Wheelers are always dressed up in original suits etc from the sixties/seventys and look amazing.

I also hear people talking about being to old to dance, they want to check out the older Wheelers and watch them dance

Sorry Bazza, I was referring to the scene being over 40 years old, not the attendees, being the wrong side of 50 myself (a mere lad).

Yeh, but thats not dressing in Fancy Dress, that's proper cool looking gear.  Got a nice 2 Tone Suit that a friend of mine's Dad used to wear in a Band they were in in the 60's. Looks stunning - Needs letting out an inch or 2, 3, 4 .....

You're never too old to Dance ! Saw a guy, see him around a few places, old 60's style suite, Slim with glasses. Gets up, moves his feet around a bit - not Gethro but looks great.

The music will never die, it's been too widely marketed for that to happen, and is known about globally.

The "scene" i.e. dressing up, and going out dancing in a cold hall somewhere in Britain, will die out along with all the paraphanalia, badges, vests, talking clocks etc. It's been on life support for some years now since the last lot of returnees renewed their interest, and then rapidly remembered why they didn't stick with soul music in the first place.

As a sustainable scene it will inevitably tipple over, cough and fall into the Anuls of History.

The 'Scene' of which I and a few others are probably part of - ie: Dressing Up - are we all Tarred with the same Brush ??

This Saturday there are 57 events listed on SS - 57. Not bad for something on Life Support. I do agree with you though, it's on borrowed time.

The Music will never Die. As long as there are recordings but in reality it will be something that will be looked back at as being a fad, a very long running and well attended fad but non the less a fad.

Drifting a little off topic again me thinks.
