Linky Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Is there a record out there that has WOL on more copies than Belita Woods? 12 have sold on ebay in the last two months - six of which have WOL. They've ranged from £6 to £96 and none of them seemed to be any better than VG+. You rarely see one in EX or Mint and I have a vision of somebody in the states with sandpaper and a marker pen furiously scratching away before putting it up for auction! PS - my copy has WOL Linky
Hammersoul Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 It`s a tough one to get in vg++/m- but they are out there(i have a mint/no wol copy) . i have both her 45`s in good nick but it took a while.i take it your talking about the Moira copies? 1
Soulhawk Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 it was a local hit in Detroit so all the copies on ebay tend to come from peoples attics & basements with names scribbled on the label as for sandpaper... 'collections' from this era usually consist of a couple foot high stacks of unsleeved 45s
Only Dreaming Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I find a similar problem with "Marvin Smith's- who will do your running now" with very few copies being ex store stock. Dave 1
Swifty Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I find a similar problem with "Marvin Smith's- who will do your running now" with very few copies being ex store stock. Dave was going to mention that one myself seems the same with Garland Green on Revue , bloody frustrating init? Swifty 1
Ady Potts Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Just looking on popsike, I noticed a blue issue of 'Magic Corner' on Karen, not seen that before.
Nick Soule Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) Just looking on popsike, I noticed a blue issue of 'Magic Corner' on Karen, not seen that before. That's probably my copy. Also in the standard VG- condition. For what it's worth, I've never seen another one. Edited August 15, 2013 by Nick Soule
MrsWoodsrules Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Yeah, agree with this poster, always seems to be loads of trashed Moira copies on t'internet. Great tune, piano rif thingy at the start is super classy IMO.

So now we know there's purple issue's as well as the white demo's on KAREN perhaps it doesn't now look like a pressing plant mistake? I know that's what was suspected in the past with the demo. Wonder what was behind the name change ? I can just hear it now...Moira saying to Ollie McLaughlin "It's always Karen ! Karen this ! Karen that ! what's wrong with you using my name !" probably as simple as that

Mines a Karen WDJ and fancied that issue at the time, apart from the condition Cheers Richard 1
