Greg Belson Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Slowly but surely I've been adding some fresh uploads to my youtube channel......hovering around 140 or so at the moment. I try to add titles that are new to youtube, so if you've got a minute or two, check out some of the tunes on offer, here. https://www.youtube.com/user/DivineChordGospel And to give you a flavour, here's one that got a spin during my Euro tour this year, and seemed to turn a few inquisitive heads to the turntables. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhn2JbpL6-g Any questions and suchlike, then fire away.......cheers!

Awesome stuff Greg. Listening while on holiday in US somehow seems to add to the experience. 1
Jaco Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Greg, I wonder to what extent stuff like this is either embraced or overlooked because of the content? There is some seriously good music here. Stuff that I am less familiar with but wonderful nonetheless. Chosen Generation, Gospel Leaders, Gospel Dynamics, Goslel Ensembles - super soul. Keep posting pal. 1
Greg Belson Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Thanks for the comments, Jaco.......I'm sure a lot of these recordings have gone undiscovered for so long because of prejudices to the lyrical content. I'm not religious in the slightest, yet I started collecting gospel around 10 years ago. And the journey's been pretty great so far, uncovering some of the most spectacularly soulful performances I've ever heard, regardless of what the message is. A proportion of secular soul cuts have throw away lyrics at any rate, so why not just listen to the tone and delivery and not worry about the meaning?
Jaco Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Absolutely Greg. The musical content wether it be the vocals or the arrangement or the instrumentation should grab the attention and hold it regardless of the lyrical slant which would never be misconstrued. There must to tons of this stuff to be discovered. It's all there to enjoy. 1
