Roburt Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) If you are anywhere near New York on Sunday August 11th (that's this Sunday) ......... you should pop along to this show in Damrosch Park (next to 63rd St & Broadway -- between Central Pk & the Hudson River) ...... https://www.lcoutofdoors.org/bobby-rush?show_date=2013-08-11%2017:00:00 A few really good acts are on plus the Holland Brothers will be chatting about their music and even singing a few of their old songs. I also believe McKinley Jackson will be playing the piano on their part of the show. HOPE THE PROCEEDINGS GET CAUGHT ON VIDEO !!! Edited August 7, 2013 by Roburt
Seano Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Sounds great, wish I was over there! Let us know how it all goes.

Tobytyke Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Absolutley Brilliant. it makes you appreciate the records/lyrics even more. What a talent these guys had.
Weingarden Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I was there! Eddie's voice is great. I felt for McKinley Jackson, who was quickly learning the songs off sheet music while the Hollands were talking, then had to play them for the first time live for 3,000 people. He did a great job.
Mr Smithy Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Me too. Eddie & Brian were great and as stated a sterling job by Mr Jackson at the piano. The only criticism would be that it would have been better to have someone from the performing side do the chat rather than an exec from Universal. Not much can be said about Mr Toussaint that hasn't been said many times over more eloquently than I. A real privilege. He also brought on for a few minutes Henry Butler ( who, to my shame I've never heard of) , worth a look definitely. I'm sure a piano wouldn't last him long but as they say a short life but a happy one, it would have given it's all.
