Popular Post dowmam Posted August 5, 2013 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2013 Hello all, My name is Mark and along with my partner Wally run a small independent record label out here in Los Angeles called Angel City Records. Over the last 20 years, we've been putting on DJ nights and live shows here in LA featuring soul and reggae artists of the 1960s. In the last year, we have been working on establishing the label with the help of artists, writers, producers that we have worked with from that era. We've been busy in the studio writing and recording new material with new artists that we are developing for upcoming releases. We are happy to announce our first 45 on ACR 0001 which will be released at the end of this month. The single features our first artist Xiantoni Ari, daughter of Gwen Owens, doing a cover of her mothers original from the Velgo label song paired with an original on the flip. below are a couple of youtube clips to the a and b sides of the single and a link to our website. We truly hope you guys like them. thanks so much for taking the time to read Sincerely Mark Angel City Records https://youtu.be/-B2m5STKYXM https://youtu.be/ppmUGIbNRAM www.angelcityentertainment.info 8

Guest DeeJay Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Well done Boyz ...........Sound great! Is there any w/d's
Ian Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Really like the B side, best of luck with the 45. ian
Roburt Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Sounds good to me, has an really great old skool feel to it (due to the traditional instruments used on the backing). Wish you every success, Gwen is a great lady & so her family members are no doubt too (is Gwen still working with the Holland Bros BTW ?).
rodders Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 this is great stuff and i think angel city records would prosper in the sales dept if a "few" copies (on vinyl)found their way over here.
Davenpete Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Great job - would be nice to hear more 'meat' and oomph in the bass beat perhaps - this is certainly what we go for over here and something that is lacking in most modern Northern Soul soundalikes. Best of luck. Dx
Frankie Crocker Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Nice cover but really rate the flip. This sort of industry should be encouraged and supported. Keep up the good work.
Tezza Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 So, send us a copy or 2 to get them aired over here. Nice Demo would be great - Vinyl of course !! How do we get hold of one then ?? 1
Quinvy Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I agree the flip sounds really good. You have shown Ian Levine how it should be done. Controversial!
Pete S Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I agree the flip sounds really good. You have shown Ian Levine how it should be done. Controversial! Maybe but Ian has some better vocalists
Andreas B Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Maybe but Ian has some better vocalists The boy bands he produced?
Pete S Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 The boy bands he produced? Yes Andreas. That's exactly what I mean. 1
