Pete S Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) just to let those who can't see the audio/video forum that this tape is now up there to listen to AT THE LINK ABOVE This is a phenomenal quality recording of the 7th anniversary (taped by an old friend Rich Simner) and the highlight is undoubtedly a sensational spot from Richard Searling, playing many of his then cover ups and top sounds. Although the sound quality is fantastic, you can also hear the clapping, so good stuff all round. This track listing may not be exactly right as I know I cut out a few of the Modern sounds when I originally edited the tape (*no they are still on there), I've not listened to it before posting it. I know you'll enjoy this one, it's definitely one of the best I've got. Thanks No I'm not posting that one Pete, I explained why on the topic, there's no atmosphere at all. These go out to like 2000 people and 1990 of them would be bored to death listening to that one.

However I dont think you can speak on behalf of 2000 people....anyway, not that interested in getting into a debate over it, just seems strange to me that your personal taste impacts on what you will & wont post........a period in WC history which is widely acknowledged as one of THE best musically & a period which impacted greatly on the next decades Rare Soul scene....a unique & extremly important snapshot, but we cant hear it cos you dont like 'Moddun' duh !!!!.....hey ho its your train set.... Best Russ It doesn't matter even if it's free, someone always has to moan don't they, in this case, you Russ, just be grateful someone does this sort of thing for Christs sake. I can only record 74 minutes from a 90 minute tape so I have to lose 16 minutes, and as they are my tapes, I can cut out what the hell I like, so the ten minute disco 12" will be removed. If you don't like it, you go and source your own tapes and post them up. But no, you'd rather let someone else do all the work and then f*cking moan about it. If you don't like it - don't listen to it.

Russ You do care because you keep harping on about it Russ, shame you can't just listen and enjoy them like everyone else does. On each one I have to record cassette onto cd, get the cd onto the pc, convert it to mp3, then edit it, finalise it, then post it up, write the track listing, the whole process takes 2 and a half to 3 hours, it doesn't sit too well with me when after I do all that, I get someone telling me I'm not doing it right.

If you want some tapes converting let me kow and ill do them and put on cd as mp3 or whatever format you want. The tape player even turns over on its own so I just let it roll and cut the blank bit in the middle out and trim. Same for anyone else with tapes they want converting. Thanks for the offer Chalky and I might take you up on that as I've got at least 30 more to do, but I'm going to give it a rest for a bit now anyway, too much of a good thing and all that.
