Popular Post Pete S Posted July 28, 2013 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) Someone put up a wants for "Detroit Shakers - Help Me Find My Way" today, it reminded me of something that happened to me in my earliest days on the scene and something I'm still embarassed about today. As we know, Detroit Shakers was actually Lonely Man by The Outsiders, it was covered up and bootlegged as The Detroit Shakers. I loved this record and when it was booted, I bought a copy as soon as they arrived at Ruby Red records. It was on the Counsel label and apart from the false title and artist, they also put a false producers name, and on the label it said RICHARD P-PCORN WYLIE (thats what it said) I thought this was a weird name, anyway as time went on I forgot all about this until one day maybe 6 months later, we were having a discussion about records and this guy mentioned a record called Rosemary What Happened and said it was by RICHARD POPCORN WYLIE, to which I immediately challenged him and said "It's not POPCORN, it's PPCORN (Pee Pee Corn)" I was never allowed to forget this.
