ricticman
loved the deserved, but belated, coverage of Bobby Bland by our Broadcasting Corp.; but I found this almost impossibly sad to watch, just as it was completely unmissable too. the guy talked likes he sang - hear tbreaking all the way through been a bit obsessed with this guy since I first heard his voice [ walking up the stairs at the Pendulum in Manc on the Friday night I first went there and heard 'Call on me' ] . collected his stuff ever since - played them out lots too [ but now I wish I'd played more ] what a singer, doubt we'll ever see the like ? pete Edited July 17, 2013 by ricticman Link to comment Social source share
Mal C
I didn't, or don't mind, Mick hucknell, he's a fan, and whether its fashionable or not, he has a beautiful voice, I think it lends its self to Bobby's recordings... I think Bobby's music has touched so many people from all walks of life, I'm just glad I've been able to be a fan, and will continue to be for a long time yet.... As for the BBC, Day Late, but not a dollar short.... Malcolm Link to comment Social source share
