Reg Scott Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) Hi People, I was digging around in some UK 45's and came across the track below. I was going to put this straight up for sale but it's got under my skin so I'd like to find out if anything is known about it - all the usual if, when, where, opinions etc.. It seems to be a pretty rare UK only funky 70's soul dancer - best description I can come up with! Released in 1974, with a distinct nod to Stevie Wonder, by the lady who recorded the original of Dusty's "Goin' Back" on Immediate. Google retrieves - at least for me - only one direct reference to the 45 release of which this was the flip. It may well be a Marmite tune, but I'd be very interested for any input.. Thanks in advance.. Edited July 10, 2013 by ClearVinyl
Reg Scott Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Bit more like funky rock really, Greg? goldie-zelkowitz-get-it-back-janus.jpg Absolutely, perhaps :-), I don't know myself given a lot of tracks I listen to given the various tags! Just something about it that I like - maybe the blue eyed funk/soul style of a slightly earlier period. Still seems worthy of a look given it's credentials - former Immediate Starlet, rare 'B' side, UK only etc etc...
