Hi everyone

Am I correct in thinking the Rolyak release of this Rev O.C. Tolbert song was the first and a miss-print - with the Rolyat being a second correct press?

I always get confused by this one  :hypo:

Are the two recordings identical, or are there differences (I seem to remember they might be)?

Thanks very much for any advice on this one.

Cheers

Richard

different mixes - different address too

Rolyat has a better mix imho - on 'Hard Times' the drums are pushed forward & sound great

'You Gotta Hold On Me' is pretty dull either way  :wicked:

Yes, the Rolyak is the mislabelled first pressing, with completely different more relaxed drums on the 'Hard times' cut....almost lazy. The Rolyat pressing has the drums replayed and are much more aggressive and as soulhawk says, pushed higher in the mix.

You can hear both of them in this mix....spool through to check 'em out;

I've got the Rolyak version."You gotta hold on me" is a great piece of laid back soul with growling vocals.

Then again i would say that,being as its for sale. :hatsoff2:
