Liamgp
Get the flow right. Think about what'll sound good following on from the first record until the last and don't think you just need uptempo stuff constantly, a midtempo or even slowie can follow on nicely from something fast. Guest penny
Find your own sound, and some records that aren't established yet.. The last few years have seen an explosion of djs who play 'hits of the last 10 years' sets. We dont need more like that. Link to comment Social source share

Agentsmith
agree with the last comment, ( turn up early ) thats more the norm these days so as to avoid replication, which is the bain of a whole swathe of educated punters and,.....these wonderful millions of underplayed, undervalued, underappreciated cheapies area great place to start...try to get an edge. Guest penny
Ask yourself 'why?'. Why be a dj? What are you bringing to the table, what are you adding? This is the fundamental question. If you are adding something and can describe what that is, then go for it. If you can't, just dont bother. You might enjoy playing other djs records in a different order but it's not all about you:-)) Link to comment Social source share
