The old Rotherham ender Millie Jackson "Ask Me What You Want".

I heard Brian Rae finish off with it at an early Clifton Hall and when I took over continued the tradition.

Never heard it played out elsewhere since though.

Always thought The Artistics "I'm Gonna Miss You" was the perfect ender for the "Old Farts" Herringthorpe gigs, some years back and only recently realised how perfect "It'll Never Be The Same Again" by Fifth Dimension on Soul City would be for an ender.

Appropriate and Poignant.

When I used to DJ round Plymouth in the late '70s, early '80s I used to end with Betty Levette "Almost".

This could link in with records you should never have sold

Anyone got an mp3 of it?

Bobby Paris - I walked away.

Ginger ended a night a few weeks ago with this and it was unbelievable.

Never been a fan of a slow one to end the night. Best to go out with a bang.

Ask the lonely Four Tops.

You can run Jerry Butler.

Bobby Sansom - Don`t Leave

Would have been Terry Lindsey - It`s Over, but it`s impossible to even slow shuffle to coz of weird tempo.

I know it's quite obvious but I can't get past Timi Yuro's 'It'll never be over' as the best ever. On a personal note, I've personally ended doo's with The Notations 'A new day' on Twinight.

Used to visit a small night in Kendal. Possibly Netherfield - think the club was a social club for the local shoe factory.

Dj (Eddie) used to finish with "harvest for the world" Isley Brothers and it worked

LOL :wicked:

actually Martin the Johnny F & Buddy versions are similar arrangements but the other 3 do sound very different to each other.

There's also a version by ike & tina which is very funky 70s, LPonly i think???

What can I do, Donnie Elbert - different and simply fantastic. One of the best soul songs ever.

Often at The Twisted Wheel the night is ended with Soothe Me by Sam and Dave.

Brilliant end to the night with everyone clapping along.

Often gets an encore as well!

Without a doubt, a 1000+ punters singing Holland Dozier - Why Can't We Be Lovers - does it for me everytime.

Girf

heard this on radio 2 the other night going to work, excellent track.

Mark Hopes used to finish East Kirkby Welfare with this and R Kelly - Up'n Outta Here

I love enders, especially the beat ballad type. So many to choose from but enjoyed hearing Lenny Welch's Run To My Loving Arms at NMD alldayer a few weeks ago. Also would like to hear Bobby Bennett's Alone With My Tears as an ender, perhaps Solid Hit Soul?

These Memories by Almeta Latimore is a great one for a Modern type night.

Little Anthony and the Imperials - Call Me The Joker - veep lp (not sure if it's ever been played, but i think it would make a fab' ender)!

Maxine Brown - Gotta Find A Way - Pye

Billy Stewart - I Do Love You - Chess

Brad Lundy - Beaking Point - Lundy

Clarence Williams - No Rest For The Worried - Throne

Timi Yuro - It'll Never Be Over For Me - Liberty
