Peter Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 (edited) At the last Ritz-Allnighter in Manchester a couple of years ago Bob Hinsley finished the nighter with Jerry Butlers Stop Steppin On My Dreams..Brilliant Edited May 28, 2006 by Peter
Sean Hampsey Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 (edited) The old Rotherham ender Millie Jackson "Ask Me What You Want". I heard Brian Rae finish off with it at an early Clifton Hall and when I took over continued the tradition. Never heard it played out elsewhere since though. Always thought The Artistics "I'm Gonna Miss You" was the perfect ender for the "Old Farts" Herringthorpe gigs, some years back and only recently realised how perfect "It'll Never Be The Same Again" by Fifth Dimension on Soul City would be for an ender. Appropriate and Poignant. Sean Hampsey Edited May 28, 2006 by Sean Hampsey
Paul R Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 When I used to DJ round Plymouth in the late '70s, early '80s I used to end with Betty Levette "Almost". This could link in with records you should never have sold Anyone got an mp3 of it? Paul
Paulb Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Bobby Paris - I walked away. Ginger ended a night a few weeks ago with this and it was unbelievable. Never been a fan of a slow one to end the night. Best to go out with a bang.

Sweeney Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I quite like this as an ender: The Charades - Never Set Me Free (MGM) charades.mp3
Geoff Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I love enders, especially the beat ballad type. So many to choose from but enjoyed hearing Lenny Welch's Run To My Loving Arms at NMD alldayer a few weeks ago. Also would like to hear Bobby Bennett's Alone With My Tears as an ender, perhaps Solid Hit Soul? These Memories by Almeta Latimore is a great one for a Modern type night.
Guest Dan Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 that charades is nice anthony the drifter as mentioned above was always a favourite but i also like this elmore morris in a BIG way...the perfect ender to me slightly more contemplative but utterly beautiful is the gene stridel Elmore_Morris___It_Seemed_Like_Heaven_To_Me___Crackerjack.mp3Gene_Stridel___One_More_Mountain___Columbia.mp3
Guest Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Little Anthony and the Imperials - Call Me The Joker - veep lp (not sure if it's ever been played, but i think it would make a fab' ender)!
