Robbk Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 My original has Delta # 56960 and 56960-X, from Monarch's original press run in 1964.
bri phill Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Thanks Pete and Robb ....would have been surprised if it was an original Cheers Brian
Dave Thorley Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Can anyone tell me if these Green 'Vee-Jay Distributed' copies are originals, ie not bootlegs ? as they don't have a stamped matrix. But there again they are a different press to the black Monarch run. Was it legally re-distrubuted by Vee-Jay ?
Rich B Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 That looks like the first pressing that appeared via Selectadisc to me Dave. 1

I have noticed a few turning up in the USA like the one pictured, but plenty of boots are finding there way back to the States now. I can remember this design sold as boots/pressings back in the 70's. I was always lead to believe it had to be on a black issue or white demo, to be right. There are vinyl originals and styrene originals, with many bootlegs with different colour labels. The only way to be sure it's an original, is the styrene Monarch manufactured Matrix Delta 56960. Black label issue or White demo. Edited January 3, 2016 by Guest
Roxie Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 there are also black issue boots but again its all down to the matrix to make sure you get a real one
Tlscapital Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) this bootleg variation uses the label/design/fonts of the styrene promo and issue while the original vinyl editions were using totally different label designs and fonts from different pressing plants; Hence the last one here is a Chicago press and it's the only one not mentioning the Vee-Jay distribution thing... while they were pressed there ! Pete S Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 As said above, that was the first boot, the second was purple I think, it may well be the most booted record of all time, red ones, white ones, black ones etc 1

Oh and by the way, it's the same seller/auctioner as the Frank Beverley Fairmount bootleg; https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/346255-frank-beverley-re-issue/
Robbk Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I saw literally millions of 45s during the 1960s, and never saw that blue pressing until the mid 1970s, so I'd say it would HAVE to be a boot, because, during the mid 1960s, I was traveling, looking at records in all parts of USA, and never saw it. I saw only white DJ and black store stock, in the variations shown above. The record was distributed nationally by VJ. 1

45cellar Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 As mentioned above Originals have Delta # 56960 in the Deadwax This one is an ORIGINAL Black Lined Variation with Detla # 56960 & 56960 X STYRENE MONARCH With a Matt Black Label. This one is the 70s Press Black Lined Variation with Delta # 99069-X & 99069 STYRENE MONARCH With a Black Label. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apart from the obvious difference via the Delta # The -X Denotes the "B Side" on a Monarch Press. (Notice on this Black Lined 70s press Delta # 99069 the Deadwax suggests "Tainted Love" is the "A Side") It has Delta # 99069-X for "My Bad Boy's Comin'Home" which would be wrong.
