Bo Diddley Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just noticed JM has posted a tease for a forthcoming auction on his latest items. Anybody know what it is?????????? "Forget Larry and Frank" !!!! And someones already bid

Wilxy Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I actually both saw and heard said record on Saturday morning before transit to JM's .....It's a pretty tasty tune, but enough said....
Steve G Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) has to be a BIG trophy record then.....we all know what's up there in that league....... Edited June 11, 2013 by Steve G
Guest MrC Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Can someone just say what the bl**dy hell it is, instead of talking in initials!! If people know, they know, it's not as though anyone is going to get prosecuted for giving it away is it?! I know, ask the US Government 'Prism' operators.... they're bound to know!
Popular Post Pete S Posted June 11, 2013 Popular Post Posted June 11, 2013 Interesting to see him auctioning a Freddie Scott - Mr Heartache, I've listed one three times now without so much of a sniff of a sale, so I shall now withdraw it, wait for the auction to end, and sell it at double what I was originally asking for it which will still be half the price it sells for at auction, and the buyer will be dead happy because he got it at half the auction price. Strange strange world of northern soul... 7
sir cumference Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 It's obviously the Mello-Souls. Or the Del-larks! Looks like it`s been covered up again! Been a monster tune-but here we go again with the frenzy factor.
Popular Post KevH Posted June 11, 2013 Popular Post Posted June 11, 2013 I'm putting my bid in now.!!! Don't care what the record is,i've just got to have it. 4
Phild Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Or the Del-larks! Looks like it`s been covered up again! Been a monster tune-but here we go again with the frenzy factor. It could be the Mello-Souls with a Del-Larks cover-up label on it 1
KevH Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I'm putting my bid in now.!!! Don't care what the record is,i've just got to have it. I hope its a new genre as well.I'm tired of r'n'b,new funk,ns,cross'oer.(yorkshire xover).

Lionelonthevinyl Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just had a look and it says that he has never sold one before. I'm sure ive seen del larks go on there so you would think its the mello souls........Rob
sir cumference Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Think some are missing the point. The Mello Souls were covered up as the Del Larks. Hence Uncle Ted`s reference MS or DL. And my "covered up again" remark.
Ted Massey Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) It is the Mello Souls believe me, the Supremes reference is because Shifty told his American contact that if he ever heard a record that sounded like the beginning of a certain Supremes track contact him straight away which is what he did and that was years ago not now just in case a few still don't get it Edited June 11, 2013 by Ted Massey 1
John Parker Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Better give the BM a ring then.. John Parker Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just seen the post on JM s site...not really sure Id call Mello Souls alluring Now Sandy Golden...thats a different story 2
Jim Ohara Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Will say one ting for JM, he sure knows how to drum up some excitement within his marketplace - fair play to him
Pete S Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Pete, I was sending you the money for that and a couple of others tomorrow ! That's pissed on me bonfire ! yeah right
Bo Diddley Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Just checked the sound clip for the sale item...... starts like a motown record...... it's a sound clip of....... Stevie Wonder - For Once In My Life Brilliant! 1
Markw Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Just seen the post on JM s site...not really sure Id call Mello Souls alluring Now Sandy Golden...thats a different story Might not be to you mate, but it sure is to plenty of others............. Edited June 11, 2013 by markw
John Parker Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Might not be to you mate, but it sure is to plenty of others............. It was a reference to the adjective alluring which to my mind has more feminine connotation..Sandy Golden is alluring.. Would describe Mello Souls as the dogs b....cks..masculine descriptor
Markw Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Ah ha!!! Apologies John - I can see what you mean now.......... 1

Premium Stuff Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 It's that f*cking Frank Wilson record again with the darned W.O.L. Def Mello Souls
Ted Massey Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) mello or mellow its still to expensive for me for that price I would want a w Edited June 11, 2013 by Ted Massey
Premium Stuff Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Mind you John has Lee Rogers - Love & War on auction too and says: and it’s by far the hardest NS record on the label Think that one needs a re-write as "by far the hardest LEE ROGERS NS record on the label" Richard
Guest Soulfood33 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 mello or mellow its still to expensive for me for that price I would want a w It's TOO not to
Simsy Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 If the current number of page views for this topic were all individuals and they all chipped in £13.96 each, it'd be ours! Or at least ten grand towards it. Viz referring to the lottery as being for the 'hopelessly optimistic', prevents me from ever owning such a disc.
Dobber Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 have you not read the posts its the MELLOW SOULS i wouldnt turn my nose up at a m.souls, but inspirations would be the record for me. 1

Premium Stuff Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Vinyl timeshare, its the future Can you imagine the arguments - given we can't even agree on soul music basics ? ... It's my turn - no it''s my turn - but you played it last time - no you did - it's not fair ... 2
John Parker Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 mello or mellow its still to expensive for me for that price I would want a w Wondered what you were wanting for the money Ted..."w.." ...now I get it ..mellow not mello..der.. 1
Bo Diddley Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 So, assuming it isn't a mystery anymore and is Mello Souls, what do the panel think the finishing price will be? Somewhere between Larry and Frank?? Ted, if you want to sell some of those battered to death, overplayed oldies you've had knocking about for years to fund a bid, let me know. I may even give you what you paid for some of them back in the 70's and 80's 2
Guest Seagrave Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 So, assuming it isn't a mystery anymore and is Mello Souls, what do the panel think the finishing price will be? Somewhere between Larry and Frank?? Ted, if you want to sell some of those battered to death, overplayed oldies you've had knocking about for years to fund a bid, let me know. I may even give you what you paid for some of them back in the 70's and 80's Between Larry and Frank? ... most probably. However, let's not forget there were other recent items in-between those two as well: Eddie Parker - £8.2K+ Counts - £8.5K+ Prophets - £9.9K+ All very rare and very good records (and, perhaps not surprisingly, the last three are all now residing in Japan I believe). But personally I would rather have any of those five ahead of the Mello Souls. It might well exceed the price for the Prophets; but then again, travesties happen all the time. Give me One Gold Piece any day of the week. We Can Make It is not for me though, and as the Mello Souls might say, 'I Got My Pride' ... 1
Dazdakin Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 good god i only just fell in.........DOH!! ding ling ding ling ding ling..........set me free why dont you baby......i fucking knew i had heard that intro somewhere before dazz
Simon T Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 and as the Mello Souls might say, 'I Got My Pride' ... If money was no object, I'd buy it for that side alone.
